Lomeshaye Life Once again these last two weeks have flown by here at Lomeshaye Junior School. All of our assessments are complete and pupils in Year 6 have received their end of year SATs results. There is just one week and two days left of school before we break up for the summer holidays. I do hope that as many children as possible attend school until the last day of the year. Well done to everyone that attended school over these last two weeks. Our attendance figures have continued to be good which is a great achievement. The super news for the whole school is that we HAVE MET OUR TARGET, with 96.9% for the week ending 5th July and 96.4%of the school attending for week ending 12th July. We even had one class, 3 Elm, that won the 100% class award. I do hope that this great effort with attendance continues right up to the last day of the year. Year 6 Visit to Borwick Hall— all of the pupils who spent three days at Borwick Hall last week had a fantastic time. They really enjoyed all of the activities and their behaviour was exemplary. We hope that you all had a wonderful time and made lots of memories. Special thanks go to Mr Heseldson, Miss Wallace, Mrs Spokes, Miss Whittle, Miss Birtwistle, Mrs Hall and Mr Lawless for taking part in proceedings too.
Year 3 Spelling Bee— Congratulations to our Year 3 Spelling Bee winner Miss Zahra Fatima from 3 Oak, who took part in a fabulous spelling contest this week at Cherry Fold Primary School. Zahra amazed the judges in the competition and scored an fantastic 35 points, making her the Year 3 winner. Year 6 SATs results—This week we heard great news from the Year 6 SATs markers. Our results were returned with wonderful news for the school. We have beaten last years results and topped the national figures in 3 areas. Congratulations to all pupils that took part in this years tests, a huge well done to you all.
