Lomeshaye Life It has been another busy week in school and there is not long until our half term holiday. This week all of our pupils have been working hard with their learning. We have had many successes to celebrate as many of you will know from attending our Friday assembly—any one who didn't make assembly this week you are more than welcome to come any Friday from 9am. Well done to everyone who made it to school this week. We have smashed our whole school attendance target again this week, achieving 98.8%. Every single class beat the target of 96% and two classes achieved 100%,what a fantastic achievement once again. Let’s see if we can keep it up next week too! Reminder to all Year 6 parents—High School place applications must be completed online by 31st October 2018. Next week is the last support session in school for the applications with Mrs. Safdar. Please make sure that you apply for your child’s place if you haven’t done so already. Assessment week—next week all classes will be taking part in tests and assessments to see how much progress has been made this half term Please make sure your children are in school every day and that they have had a good nights sleep and breakfast before they arrive at school. Paddington’s 60th Birthday— One of the worlds best loved children’s book characters, Paddington Bear celebrates his 60th birthday on 13th October. Next Thursday, after school, families are invited to watch the Paddington Movie and enjoy snacks in our sports hall to mark his birthday and remember all of the wonderful Paddington stories that are available to read. Harvest Collection—Thanks to everyone who has kindly donated food items for the Harvest Food Parcels. Tuesday is World Food Day and the parcels will be distributed to local people. This year we have had the highest number of donations, your generosity is outstanding. Pendle Pupil Parliament—today was the first meeting of the new year with our representatives Nimrah and Shayan. They will be putting their views to the members of the pupil parliament and bringing ideas back to school of ways we can work together to make our local area better.

Tuesday 16th @ 11.30—Year 6 class assembly, Year 6 parents all welcome. Wednesday 17th @ 11.15—Year 6 High School applications drop in session with Mrs Safdar. Thursday 18th — 10.00 Year 3 family learning performance. Family Film Evening—3.30-5.00pm
