Lomeshaye Life Welcome back to school everyone! The new school year has got off to a wonderful start. All of the children have settled well into their new classes and we have completed some great learning during these first two weeks. We are hoping that this year brings more exciting opportunities for our pupils and families and that we can improve even further on our superb standards of teaching and learning as the year progresses. At Lomeshaye we really want everyone to ASPIREBELIEVE-ACHIEVE! Well done to everyone who made it back to school on time for the start of the new school year. This week we have had an excellent week with our attendance. Our whole school attendance figure is 98.3%, which beats our target. Three classes, 6 Elder, 5 Larch, 3 Oak also achieved 100%attendance . This is great news and a fantastic achievement, lets see if we can keep it up next week too! Parent Welcome Meetings—Thank you to all who attended the welcome meetings on Tuesday this week, we hope that you found the information that was shared useful. If you couldn’t make the meeting we are having one more meeting on Monday 17th September from 3.30-4.00pm, please come along if your missed it on Tuesday 11th. Creative Partner—Our Creative Partner Nicole is back in school working with the Learning Leaves group this half term. They are working hard together to develop speaking, listening and story telling skills and to help them with their study in English lessons.

Roald Dahl Afternoon—on Thursday it was Roald Dahl’s birthday. As a special celebration all classes took part in Roald Dahl themed activities for the afternoon. As Dahl is such a well loved children’s author, we thought this would be a good opportunity to find out more about his writing and develop our love of reading for pleasure. New Learning Themes—all classes will begin new learning themes next week. In Year 3 they will study “This is Me”, Year 4 is “Grubs Up”, Year 5 are learning about “Force of Nature” and Year 6 have the theme “Stand and Deliver”. All the details for these themes are in the newsletter that was sent out by class teachers last week. Monday 17th—Parent Welcome Meetings @ 3.30pm
