*Postponed* Pastoral Leaders Training Programme for Heads of Year 12th December 2019 This year’s Pastoral Leaders Training Programme for Heads of Year Workshop, which was due to take place on Thursday 12th December, has been postponed due to low numbers registering for this event.

Partnership Director, Paul Greenall, will discuss when would be a better time to deliver the programme at the Headteacher/CPD Leads meetings in January.

School Profiles (Please respond by 6th December) The Archdiocese have again commissioned Wigan EBIU to provide Secondary profiles for all schools. Therefore, we are asking that you forward a copy of your Key Stage 4 pupil level file from the 2019 Newsletter—Edition School and College Performance Table Checking site.1I Winter believe 2015 the file can be found in the Guidance/ Documents tab, at the top of the Key Stage 4 data Files and Guidance section. The downloaded file will be a csv document with the name KS4pu19.

This data can be anonymised before sending. Wigan need a row of data for each student with their exam results and the following contextual information: Gender, Disadvantaged, SEN Status and Prior Attainment Band. However there is no need for any names, UPNs etc. so these could be deleted before the file is sent.

Please can you send the file directly to Duncan Hannavy, D.Hannavy@wigan.gov.uk by the 6th December at the latest.

National Space Academy: Physics Masterclass The National Space Academy are now taking bookings for 2020 to use the Ogden bursaries towards a full day Physics masterclass. They only have a few bursaries remaining.

To qualify for the funding your school must have at least 13% of students at the school registered for free school meals The school must be in England A full day Physics masterclass takes place at the school and typically runs from 09:00 - 15:00 One hour Multiple masterclasses do not qualify for the funding The masterclass is forNewsletter—Edition students in year 10 upwards 1 Winter 2015 The masterclass is for students from one class (not mixed year groups) Your school will need to provide an appropriate classroom or laboratory space A teacher from the school must be present throughout the session The funding covers £450 (incl) VAT which means that the school will only pay £6 + the cost of travel for the Lead Educator delivering the session.

Ogden Trust funded Masterclasses are subject to the National Space Academy’s usual terms and conditions.

Each school may only apply once for the Ogden Trust Masterclass each year We ask teachers and students to complete evaluation forms following the event
