The whole school attendance for this week is 93.1%, with Maple Class achieving 97.1%.

The Choir represented school brilliantly last Saturday at the Knott-End and Preesall Christmas lights switch-on – we are now looking forward to attending the Christmas Coffee Morning at Knott-End Library on the 16th December.

Nativity Productions:

Monday 18th December

We hope you are looking forward to seeing our younger pupils perform in their nativity productions next week.

They have all been working really hard to learn their songs and lines! Can I just remind you not to take photos or videos during the performances as some of our pupils cannot be photographed. The class teachers will share photos on Class Dojo/Facebook. For those parents coming to watch in the afternoon; we will not be able to release children early after the performance. Collection will be at 3:30pm as usual. Pupils will need to return for the evening performance at 5:30pm to change into their costumes.

We hope you or someone in your family can attend our Christmas Coffee Morning at St. Oswald’s Church Hall. Please invite grandparents or neighbours.

It is £3 entry which includes a drink and cake.

There will be a range of Christmas stalls and some of our pupils will be providing entertainment.

We are currently collecting bric-a-brac items, tombola and raffle prizes if you are able to donate anything.

If you are able to bake, either for refreshments or for items to sell on a cake stall, we would be very grateful.

Disco Wednesday 13th December

Choir at Knott-End Library Saturday 16th December Please meet in the library at 10:20am. We will be singing from 10:30-10:50am. Pupils can wear their own clothes with Christmas jumpers and Santa hats or Christmas headbands if they wish.

This event is in the school hall from 5:307pm. We will be selling drinks, bags of sweets and glow sticks (all items will be priced at £1 each).

If you haven’t booked places – please do so on Parent Pay.

Christingle service Tuesday 19th December

Ice-Skating Workshop Thursday 14th December The coach will be leaving at 8am so please can all pupils taking part meet at the bottom of Mill Street at 7:55am.

They can wear their own clothes but warm layers, with extra socks and a waterproof coat are highly recommended. Gloves are essential – ideally waterproof as woolly gloves just soak up the water and result in cold fingers!

The pupils will be back at school for lunch.

This service will be held at St. Oswald’s Church at 6 pm. All pupils from Willow, Maple and Elm Classes will be expected to attend.

Families are welcome to join us, for what is always, a special service. Pupils should arrive for 5:45pm and girls with long hair, must have their hair tied up in a bun.

We will be sending donation envelopes home at the end of next week for the Children’s Society. If you are able to make a donation, please return the envelope with your child when they attend on the night.

Parent Governor Election Our new parent governor is Stacey Machin.

Stacey will take up her role in the new year.

Reception Class places – September 2024 Please note that applications must be made online by 15th January 2024. If you attend church or any of the local church stay and play services, please complete the supplementary form which is available on our school website.

Mrs Adams We are really sorry to be saying goodbye to Mrs Adams at the end of this term. An opportunity has arisen in the private sector that she couldn’t refuse – she is also really sad to be leaving us and she will definitely be back for regular visits!

Miss Brakewell will be taking on a temporary role in the office from January and we are having a move around of some of our support assistants to make sure we are supporting needs of pupils in each class.

Don’t forget on the last day of term, Friday December 22nd – we finish at 1:30pm!
