Times Table Rockstars gets a Glow Up: Live on 23rd June
Looking cool: LINK Will your devices be compatible at home, parents? See notes in LINK.
Hot Days
As always, on hot days, feel free to send your child in, in their PE kit if it is supportive.
Sun Cream
Sun cream can be applied at home and/or pupils can bring it in, so long as they can apply it themselves and do not share with others (mindful of allergies, reactions to unfamiliar brands/types, for example).
Caps, Glasses etc
All perfectly fine provided we are wearing it for protection; not in lessons and not sharing/playing with our accessories – throwing our hats around the field, for example. Please reinforce.
Water Bottles
Are a must. We now have a bottle filler in the KS2 corridor which children have enjoyed accessing.
Take the Shade
When the children hear me cry, they know what to do/where they can go. These mini shade breaks give us a chance, part-way through lunchtime, to feel our body signals & regulate accordingly –actioned multiple times in very hot weather.
Disco Feedback
Thanks for your support & the feedback. We understand that – logistically – it may have provided you with some inconveniences. However, boots on the ground (adult observations) report a much calmer, safe and more pleasurable experience for our pupils. Voting amongst pupils, Year 1 – 6: vast majority preferred the split. This will be our model moving forward.
Price structure for Disco is set by FOES. If you have any feedback about this, please pass it directly to FOES.
We always aim to set two discos a year: January & May/June.
Omelette versus Frittata
Not all of the data is in, but omelettes have a slight edge at the moment. Evelyn, councillors and I thought you may like to know.
Assessments:
Well done to all the children who have worked incredibly hard on their assessments. Some have finished, some are part-way through. Please reinforce the message that these are just a snapshot in time and learning never stops. Keep working hard to the very best you can be, children!

Swimming Pool
Is open! Rauf & Antony have had their first sessions. Lovely to hear – once again – the splashes and screams (of joy!) from my office, poolside! It’s a privilege to see each year’s Year R take to the pool like a duck to water. Speaking of which…where’s our swan… LINK

Antony Highlights:
The highlight for Antony Class this week has got to be swimming. It was wonderful to hear from the children how much they enjoyed their lesson and how much they accomplished in just one session. They’re definitely looking forward to the next one.

Wenzel Highlights:
PSHE has been a highlight for Wenzel Class this week as we have looked at several books to help us consider how people grow and change. The children discussed what they can do now that they couldn't do when they were younger and talked about some of their hopes for the future. After listening to The Great Big Book of Families, and learning that there are lots of different types of families, the children wrote some super sentences about their families and home routines
Larwood Highlights:
In Larwood Class this week, we have enjoyed the music of carnival, listening to, appreciating and recreating Samba music! The children have played drums, tambourines, agogos and other percussion instruments to create a Brazilian cacophony. We have also been practising the hurdles and relay race in PE, as well as learning about the islands that make up Japan.
Rauf Highlights:
This week’s learning highlight emerged from our history studies, building on our exploration of women’s rights and individual freedoms. The whole lesson fostered maturity, respect, and thoughtful dialogue - with some fantastic questions and differing perspectives, shared. What began as a discussion grew into a powerful moment of shared reflection, with all children showing a genuine interest. Well done, Rauf Class.
