Maths: The children will start the Spring term with multiplying and dividing 3 & 4 digit numbers, by a 2-digit number (2345 x 56) using the strategies they are familiar with. They will move onto problem solving with multiplication before working on division methods. This will include short division and dividing a 4-digit number by a onedigit number. After problem solving using division, we will then move onto fractions (AGAIN!) This will involve multiplication and finding fractions of amounts. Spanish: With Señor Asensi, the children will be learning about 'El tiempo' (the weather). They will recognise and recall weather expressions. In addition, the children will learn how to ask what the weather is today and give a reply in Spanish. They will learn about the weather in Spain, including using a weather map with symbols.

Year 5 – Spring 1 ‘A Greek Odyssey’
