You will need Paper, Pencil, Rubber Ruler and Colouring Pencils, Crayons or Felt tip pens Why: To develop your understanding shape and spacing to create fun illustrations CHALLENGE: Can you create your own illustration of the boy in a fun scene with his friends?

Step One : Use your pencil to very lightly draw a circle on top of a square. Make the circle slightly larger than the square. As you can see it’s so light you can hardly see it on the page

Step Two : Draw curved lines from both top corners and attach to circle then rub out top line of the square.

DISTANCED LEARNING Step Three: Draw a faint line across the face. Make it slightly below centre. Make sure you use a ruler and keep your pencil light.

Step Four: Draw an L shaped nose from the top centre of the circle to the line you have just drawn across the circle. Then add a small filled circle to each side of the L shape. Then rub out the centre line.

Step Five: Create tilted rectangle across the top of the face.

Step Six: Curve the edges of the rectangle and add a semi circle to the top to create a hat and then draw fluffy bobble on top. Add curved lines to hat and then rub out any of the lines not part of the hat.

Step 7: Draw thin rectangle arms. One curved up to the head.

Might make it easier for you if you think of a teacup handle or a backwards C. The other straight by his side.

Step Eight: Draw small hands where shown
