Book Worms Reading Newsletter –Autumn 1 ‘If a child can’t read, they can’t get on in life.’
Welcome to first edition of our Chapelford Reading Newsletter this year. At Chapelford, we believe being able to read is one of the most important life skills you will ever learn. We want to celebrate your reading achievements, give you some reading top-tips, share book recommendations and keep you informed about reading at our school.
We have already had a very busy first term, filled with lots of exciting books shared in the classroom. We have loved seeing our children get stuck into reading at home and seeing some great reading percentages across the school! Remember, you need to read 5 times at home and have your reading diary signed by an adult. We would like to do a shout out to the five classes with the highest reading percentages this term: Class 13: 83%
Class 6: 86%
Class 22: 91%
Class 9: 92%
Class 22: 100%
The first step to encouraging your child to read, is finding a book they love. With half term coming up and lots of children looking forward to Halloween, we wanted to share with you some ‘spook-tactular’ books that you could enjoy reading at home over the break…
