Newsletter – 8th July 2019

Our News The children had a fabulous day celebrating the end of our ‘What’s in the Garden?’ topic. They all looked amazing in their costumes. All of the entries for the Bug Hotel competition were fantastic too! Well done! The children enjoyed their special treat of a puppet show in the garden and what lovely weather we had for it too. They enjoyed their ice lollies even more afterwards too! They particularly enjoyed moving around on the field in their costumes like different mini-beasts. We are looking forward to our sports’ day this afternoon and the Cha Cha Plank in aid of charity. Transition Weeks Everyone will bring home a slip in their school bags today with their new class information on. The children have been on the main playground earlier on today to see where they need to line up for tomorrow morning for their new classes. On Tuesday the Ducklings will go straight to their new classes in the morning and will need to be picked up from here at the end of each day. This will be the case for the next two weeks until Friday 19th July. On Monday 22nd July they will return to Ducklings for the last few days. A super fortnight of transition activities has been planned for them. Any questions please just ask a member of staff. The new Ducklings will also be coming for some stay and play sessions this week on Tuesday 9th July, Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th July from 9.15am until 11.30am. It is important for children to attend all of these sessions, if possible, to help with the smooth transition into the Ducklings class.

STARS OF THE WEEK Nicola Bromell for her love of learning and enthusiasm for completing challenges and Isabell Roughley for her enthusiasm and super mathematics Our Learning We have enjoyed reading poems in the ‘Mad About Minibeasts’ book. The children have been listening out for the rhyming words and have been continuing writing rhyming strings of their own, with real and silly words. They have been making their own collage snails in the style of the artist Matisse and also combining playdough and sea shells to make garden snails. The children have loved singing different songs about mini beasts. Ask them to sing them to you at home.
