Home Learning Pack for Year 1 Week 6 Hi hope everyone is OK, feeling safe and healthy. It was great to speak to you and your families and find out how you were getting on with home schooling. This week I have kept some of your activities the same, so you get used to using the websites more independently and you can develop your skills. I hope you all managed to see our school video on Facebook! Did you enjoy it? We had great fun sharing our videos with each other.

NB: All Targets are linked to Y1 Spring and Summer term expectations and can be adapted for all children to work at their own pace. The activities may also be used with younger or older children, perhaps to work together.

Computers Coding Club Activity

There are lots of ideas you can try which will introduce you to computer programming

Target Matched to Y1 learning objectives for Summer Term Children to work through the units at their own pace.

Remember these are home learning units to support children and help to establish learning routines at home.

Something Different this week: Create your own museum

Target        

Key stage 1 parent SAT book Cover quite a range of arithmetic activities

To create a museum role play Make lists Draw/paint Collect items Make labels Write captions Talk about exhibition Describe exhibits

https://collins.co.uk/pages/support-learning-at-home-free-ks1ks2-study-books-for-maths-english Although the book is designed for Y2 it can be used by Y1 with support from a parent it offers lots of guidance and can be used over a number of weeks. (Take your time don’t rush through it.)

Ideas Create your own museum See: liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/my-home-my-museum I would like you to create a museum of your own. The web link above will give further details and information including an example video. This can be as easy or difficult as you like depending on time and what you have available.

It is an opportunity for children to work independently and for a family to work together. (make of it what you will) Activities: 1. Make a list of up to 10 objects that would be in an exhibition about you. Label and write a brief description on each for display.

2. And/Or create your own Art Gallery that represents you. The things you like to do, special toys, objects, people.

3. Name your exhibition and design a poster for it to encourage visitors (family members) to come and see.

4. Take photographs/video your exhibition or video call family and friends and talk to them about your creation. HAVE FUN WITH IT 5. You can also take a virtual visit to a museum check it out on Google. (British Museum)

Activities Try to do some reading each day Set time aside each day to read and enjoy the reading games on Reading Buddy. Why not create your own reading den at home, make it cosy with toys and cushions and read for pleasure.
