Target Compare, describe and solve practical problems for: mass/weight [for example, heavy/light, heavier than, lighter than]; capacity and volume [for example, full/empty, more than, less than, half, half full, quarter]
Ideas: Working in the garden exploring water/sand/soil in different container. (make you own labels using target words) Explore weight: set up a shop using a variety of household objects, consider which items are heavy, heavier, light, and lightest. Use the kitchen scales to compare items. Order items by weight. (eg - Weigh pasta into 50gm 200gm bags )
Target To identify and talk about a story character.
Ideas Listen carefully to the story of Farmer Duck. Discuss the character ‘The old farmer’ describe him what words can we use to describe him? Can we write sentences using these words. Draw a picture of the farmer. Make a story map following the sequence of events. Retell story in your own words. You could write the story or video your story telling. Why not try making puppets to help you retell the story. (template are available on twinkl home learning free if you are able to print)
