A message to the parents of Key Worker children

Dear Parents of Key Worker children As you are aware on Monday 15th June School will start to open to some other year groups so there will be some changes to your child’s daily routine. ‘The Bubble’ The key worker children will be split into two bubbles: one bubble of EYFS and KS1 with Mrs Atkinson, Mrs Byrne and Mrs Fairhurst in the Year 4 classroom. There will be another bubble for KS2 children with Mrs Thompson and Mrs Hewitt in Year 3’s classroom. The children will spend the whole day in the key worker bubbles and not mix with children from other bubbles. We will eat our lunches in our bubbles in our classroom. ‘Our routine’ The Key worker children are going to come into school through the front entrance from 8.15am until 8.40am and be picked up from 2.45pm until 3pm. Please keep to these times, as they are part of our safety plans for the wider opening of school. We will be working on our English, Maths, RE and many other subjects in the afternoons, including outdoor activities. ‘Social distancing & handwashing’ We will have to be sensible and mindful when we are moving about in our bubbles. We are aiming to keep contact to a minimum. This means keeping your own equipment in your place all day. You can’t share things with other people in the classroom. There will be handwashing facilities in the shared area and the toilets. There will be hand sanitizer in class for you to use as you wish too. ‘Safety in school’ Children do not need to bring anything into school from home for important safety reasons. If they are not having a school dinner, their lunch boxes will be wiped with antiseptic wipe and stored in the school fridge. A water bottle must be brought in on the first day will be left in class and then cleaned and refilled daily by staff. The children are not wearing school uniforms but expected to wear fresh clothes each day, which are labelled clearly. If the weather is fine, please apply sun cream at home and wear a labelled sunhat for protection, as staff will not be able to apply any creams. Please also ensure that if your child/ren are wearing footwear that requires fastening (laces) that they are able to do these themselves. We look forward to seeing you all next week. Stay safe Mrs Atkinson and Mrs Thompson
