A message to Year 1 families returning to school

A message for the Year 1 children returning to school next week: Hello Year 1 class It was lovely to speak to you all on the phone this week and to find out what you have been up to during our time in lockdown. I have seen some great pictures and videos of your home learning. I know that you have been missing your classroom and your friends and are looking forward to seeing them again. Not everyone will be returning to school at this time as each classroom only has space for a small group because as you know we all have to follow new rules for a while to keep everyone safe. Your group has been chosen to return and I know you are going to have such a lovely time even though things may seem a little different when you return. Unfortunately, I will not be able to join you in school at this time. The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has sent me a letter telling me that I have to stay at home for a little bit longer; I know that some of you have family members who are having to stay at home like me. You are going to be working in a bubble, which may be in a different classroom. Your bubble is like a little family or team who will be working and playing together and you will have a couple of adults who you know who will be looking after you. We have asked Mrs Stubbs, Miss Maclean, Mrs George and Mrs Grimshaw Brown to be in charge of your bubble. I will continue to plan some of your activities and send you messages. I look forward to seeing your pictures and hearing about your new adventures when you return. From Mrs Melling
