About your course leader: The course leader, Charlotte Atkinson, is an experienced trainer in guiding schools on the new Ofsted framework and in writing a clear and concise Self Evaluation (SE). Cost:
This popular course is returning to Liverpool for ONE DAY ONLY for any schools who missed out in July and still need to write / update their selfevaluation! On the course you will be provided with exemplar templates that are bespoke to the new Ofsted framework and will enable you to self-evaluate your school against the new key judgements. You will also be provided with a bank of exemplar materials for each section of the template. By the end of the day you will have completed the majority of your selfevaluation (SE) and it will be fit for the purposes of presentation to governors and, if necessary, Ofsted. I will support the completion of your SE including:
Updating your context and identifying your priorities for improvement Making a clear overall judgement reflecting the thread of the SE Completing a first draft of all key sections of the SE – ‘The quality of Education’, ‘Leadership and Management’, ‘Behaviour and Attitudes’ and ‘Personal Development’. At the end of the day I will then provide you with guidance for completing the document and you will be able then to complete the final draft of your SE with your leadership team at a time and place of your own choosing – although I do recommend that you book the next day off for this purpose and find a peaceful and uninterrupted venue!
It will be both a practical and developmental course intended to ensure that schools have one of the most significant documents up to date and ready to share with your staff and governors. Advice will also be given on how you can link your self-evaluation document directly to your School Improvement Plan. Once complete, you will be very well placed to regularly update your self-evaluation as your monitoring cycle takes its course and demonstrate that it is a working document driving school improvement.
