Inspection Data Summary Report (IDSR) has been re-developed for 2019 following the introduction of the new education inspection framework (EIF). It now contains fewer charts and is reduced in size but is still the key document that Ofsted inspectors use when preparing for and during inspection. It links closely with the Ofsted school inspection handbook and has been re-structured to focus on subjects across the school such as reading/ literacy. It contains: areas of interest sentences to highlight important data trends and differences from national data. NEW contextual information including workforce census data, financial data, multi-academy trust (MAT) and local authority information and school links NEW attainment trend charts a reduced focus on pupil group performance During the autumn term, Charlotte and John Atkinson have been running one day courses to support schools to analyse their data using ASP and in response to requests from many schools Charlotte will now be offering a briefing session which can be attended by headteachers, senior leaders and/or governors to explain IDSR 2019, section by section, so that all leaders and governors are absolutely confident about the messages contained within it. The course will include:
A section by section analysis of your school’s Inspection Data Summary Report 2019. An explanation of the background data that each chart and graph is based on. A check on whether or not the report accurately reflects the data in ASP. An analysis of whether or not the ‘areas of interest’ are important for the school and how to prepare for the questions that could arise from these. Advice on how school leaders should link the key messages from their IDSR analysis to their self-evaluation document and school improvement plan.
