CPD for our Teacher Network schools with the National Theatre Staff from the touring production of Warhorse.

Partnership working with the Empire Theatre Did you know that 16 ALPSIT schools in selected Areas (Sefton, Liverpool, Warrington and Wigan) are enjoying some fantastic opportunities from the Creative Education team at the Liverpool Empire Theatre? These opportunities are heavily subsidised by the ATG trust and enable children from more deprived areas to have access to high quality theatre opportunities (along with our staff).

You may have benefited from this wonderful partnership already if you were one of the over 400 staff who have attended a free Musical at the empire this year. Watch this space for more opportunities in the next academic year.

ALPSIT Conference Friday 27th September 2019 Tickets are now available for our ALPSIT Annual Conference. There is one free ticket per school for the headteacher (or SLT if unable to attend). ASP 2019 Training for Governors. 12th or 13th Nov 5-7pm at LACE This 2-hour session will be held to support Governors to get to grips with ASP. Places are £25 per person. Over the next Term we are looking for 20 teachers to participate in a pilot project with Belouga. We are looking to see what Global CPD virtual learning opportunities are available. This opportunity is free to your school and requires approx. 1 hour per week of a member of staffs’ time to participating in online conferences, workshops and google hang out talks. Initial Google hang out call to learn more about Belouga

Belouga Crash Course

Between 2nd May – 17th May. 1 hour 10th June. 3.304.30pm

All 20 educators involved 1-hour google hang out call to walk through the full Belouga program, value of the program and goals of educators involved.

This is a 40-minute online course that staff participating are required to complete in this two-week window. This will provide each educator with the fundamentals of global content and education. This is hosted within the Belouga platform as a course from two global experts.

All 20 educators involved in a 1-hour Skype call to be hosted by Belouga to provide a professional learning opportunity on the curiosity-based learning methodology. This will relate directly to how teachers can share their work and be positioned as global educators.

All 20 educators participating in the cohort will now take the skill sets they learned and create their own courses within Belouga. These courses (referred to as series in Belouga) should focus on a teacher’s current classroom lessons and needs to be activated in the Belouga format to be shared with the world. The Belouga team will provide 1:1 feedback for each educator participating in the cohort, along with best practices for creating global content.

Belouga to bring in specific global organizations and experts on a call with cohort educators with goal of bringing the world into the classroom and taking note on how these organizations and experts are getting their own work into the classroom.

Participating educators will then be guided on series in Belouga that they can utilize in their own classroom relating to their subject matter for global education and collaboration. The global organization call will be 1-hour (30-minute intro, 30 min conversation/Q&A) and may be broken into numerous categories based on participating groups interests. Belouga will then work internally to provide participating educators with a roadmap of resources and content relating to their own goals.

Solution Satellite 12: Chester Zoo Curriculum Project Fantastic Offer available for ALPSIT Schools.

Oxford Reading Buddy is a new digital reading service that supports each child's personal reading journey, motivates them to succeed, and provides teachers with valuable insights into their attainment and development.

It is an easy to use and fully optimised digital platform that can be embedded into literacy lessons in order to seamlessly support independent reading.

Includes Coaching eBooks that are accompanied by a personalised ‘Reading Buddy’ who models key comprehension strategies, supporting children as they read.

An extensive eBook library, with hundreds of eBooks from loved and trusted Oxford series such as Oxford Reading Tree, Treetops, and Project X, providing children with extra practice and consolidating their learning.

Quizzes that are carefully matched to each eBook, as well as further quizzes for Oxford’s print books that teachers may already in their schools, deepening and developing children’s comprehension skills.

Beginners Stand Up Comedy Workshops for Staff Within ALPSIT Every watched a comedian and thought I’d be good at that? Are you interested in trying your hand at Stand-Up Comedy? Want to learn all the tips of the trade from writing and structuring your material to memory and performance techniques? Then here’s your chance.

ALPSIT are offering a 6-week stand-up comedy course for Free!

All sessions must be committed to and the final session will be a live performance of your material with a professional compere and headline act. All sessions will run on Tuesdays 6-8pm at LEAF on Bold Street.
