Monday 2nd July 2018 Summer holidays - refurbishment Dear Parents and Carers During the summer holiday we are having extensive refurbishment works in school. 1. 2. 3. 4.
Asbestos is being removed from the cellar. Lathe and plaster ceilings in the vaulted roof voids are being removed. New boilers and heating systems to be installed. New lighting to be installed.
This means that classrooms 4, 5 and 6 have to be completely cleared. The staff room, offices and cloakroom areas also have to be cleared. All the other rooms in the older part of the school have to be packed up, with boxes being stored in the middle of the rooms. As you can imagine this is going to be an enormous job. This will take a long time to do and then to un-do after the work is finished.
All after school extra activities are therefore cancelled from tomorrow until September. The work is being paid for by Cumbria County Council. It will make a huge difference to school in the colder, darker months. The second stage of the work is to be undertaken next summer. Yours sincerely
