Monday 25th June 2018 Our News! Well we cannot believe that we have already arrived at our last half-term with the Ducklings! The year has flown by!! The children all settled back into their routines really well after the two week holiday. The children enjoyed Healthy Living Week and are all experts in how to look after themselves. They loved making fruit kebabs and there wasn’t a single piece of fruit left! The children listened really well to the school nurse who came to talk to them all about sun safety. Sports’ day was a great success and the children all enjoyed taking part in their races as well as participating in the team games to keep them active. We have also started our Right Start Pedestrian Training – Road Safety Programme. Hopefully the children should be able to tell you all about it! Our new outdoor play area was opened by Paralympian Shelly Woods. The children were excited to have such a special visitor in school and enjoyed asking her lots of interesting questions. As we are nearing our transition week the children have been joining the rest of the Infant children on their playground for some of their playtimes. We were all very impressed with how they coped with the change. They were confident and played beautifully, sharing the equipment fairly and lining up well at the end. The children have enjoyed the start to our Under the Sea topic. They have listened well to the Rainbow Fish and Tiddler stories. In the creative areas the children have made lovely collage starfish, glittery rainbow fish and a giant paperchain octopus! In mathematics they have recapped over the different 2D shapes and used them to make different sea creature pictures. We have also recapped over sharing out objects fairly and this week we have been thinking about time and how to tell simple times on a clock. In phonics the children have been rock pooling and finding pebbles that can match together to make longer words, such as sandcastle and starfish.

STARS OF THE WEEK Sienna Cole for being such a kind, caring and thoughtful member of the Ducklings’ class and Caitlin McArdle for super star writing. Our next newsletter will be on Friday 6th July and will give details about all the fun activities we have planned. Any questions please don’t hesitate to ring, email or come and see us.
