CONGRATULATIONS - To our first group of Y4 children who are making their First Communion at St. Oswald’s tomorrow morning. Family Communion is on Sunday at 10.30am. The children need to wear their First Communion clothes. We will remember them in our prayers. We hope they have a lovely weekend. Thank you to the Parish Preparation Team and School Staff. CLASS 5 ASSEMBLY - was held this morning and was all about Rules. Well done to all the children and thank you to all the visitors who attended. We appreciate the support you give your children at home with learning their parts. Pictures are on the website and twitter. CLASS 4 ASSEMBLY - is on Friday 15th June at 9.10am in the school hall. All family and friends are welcome. CLASS 8 - took part in a ‘twig pick’ on Monday to help the Friends of Ashton to tidy up the garden near Church. They brought back some of the twigs to use in their enterprise project too. KS2 ASSEMBLY - was led by Leah Mullins this week and focussed on exercise and healthy eating. Well done Leah. LIVERPOOL CATHEDRAL - St Oswald’s was represented by Rose McConnell, Ben Talbot and Caitlin Smith at a special Good Shepherd Mass where they presented a cheque for £618.01 to Archbishop Malcolm and Nugent Care which is the amount that we raised from all our Good Shepherd activities. Well done and thank you for your generosity. ROUNDERS - Well done to Dylan Ratcliffe, Caitlin Harrison, Charlotte Ashcroft, Thomas Earley, Jak Bibby, Harrison Newell, Poppy O’Donoghue, Scott Veivers and Chloe Banks who represented us at a tournament on Wednesday and came 3rd. YEAR 3 AND YEAR 5 - took part in Numeracy through football on Thursday. The trainers praised the children for their great attitude and behaviour. Well done. WIGAN MUSIC SERVICE PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE - performed a concert for the school this week. If your child is interested in taking music lessons please contact the school office. EDUCATIONAL VISITS - The Year 6 pupils have been on retreat today at Lowe House. This forms part of the transition activities that they are involved in throughout the year. They were accompanied by Deacon Paul in his role as our R.E Governor. SPONSORED RUN - The classes that raised the most money and will be taking part in the Wet Sponge Challenge are Class 5 and Class 7. Well done and thank you to everyone who has taken part and raised money towards school funds.
