Lomeshaye Life We are at the end of another half term, time goes so quickly at Lomeshaye. The children and staff have worked incredibly hard and made some fantastic progress. A big shout out goes to our Year 6 pupils who performed wonderfully in the SATs exams last week. Now it is time to all have a well earned rest - enjoy your week off school and see you all on Tuesday 5th June. We have had an excellent end to the term with our attendance. This week all classes met the school target leading us to a whole school attendance of 98.5%. Also this week 5Cedar class have obtained 100% attendance which is outstanding! This is great news and a fantastic achievement, lets see if we can keep it up after the holidays too. Happy Retirement Mr. Perry— today we have said “goodbye and thank you” to Mr. Perry. Mr. Perry has been a teaching assistant in Year 5 for almost 4 years and he is leaving us today to begin what we hope will be a long and happy retirement. We wish Mr. Perry all the best for the future and hope that he has a great time relaxing and enjoying lots of activities that make him happy. Year 5 Macbeth Performance— this morning our talented Year 5 pupils put on a show stopping performance to parents of the Shakespearian tragedy, Macbeth. The children have worked hard with our creative partner, Nicole, to put together their version of the play showing their wonderful acting, speaking and listening skills. This work has really helped the children to understand the text that they have been studying as part of their English work in class as well as supporting their learning in History about the Tudor period. Attendance Raffle Winners— in todays celebration assembly we drew this months attendance raffle and the winners of our £20 cinema tickets were Subhan W in 4 Willow and Murtaza in 6Ash. We hope both boys and their families have a fantastic trip out to the movies together. Well done for being attendance super stars! Headboy and Headgirl—next half term sees the opportunity for two new pupils to become our headboy and headgirl. The pupils are selected from Year 6 for their outstanding behaviour and attitudes and the children chosen to represent our school in this way for the last part of the year are Hedaiyah in 6 Elder and Ismail A from 6 Rowan—congratulations!
