The theme of the assembly was Energy. Well done to all the children and thank you to the visitors who attended. Thank you to all our parents who help their children learn lines for the assemblies - your support is much appreciated. THERE IS NO ASSEMBLY NEXT WEEK SATs - Y6 PUPILS start their SATs next week. We wish them good luck. They have worked very hard alongside the Y6 team. Have plenty of sleep and a good breakfast - a final arrangements letter has been sent home to all Y6 pupils this week. CLASSES 2 AND 3 WALK ROUND ASHTON - The children went for a walk around Ashton linked to their Geography topic ‘Our Local Environment’. They looked at the physical and human features and thought about how they could improve Ashton. The children had lots of good ideas of how to make Ashton a better place to live. YEAR 3 / 4 FOOTBALL COMPETITION - Well done to the Year 3 and Year 4 football teams who represented St Oswald’s at a competition at Leigh Sports Village today. The Year 3s were represented by Maizie Trueman, Pearl Catterall, Ben Abbott, Robert Crompton, Oscar Byrne, Nico Murphy, Sam Gee, William Irwin and Ethan Dickinson and the Year 4s were represented by Ryan Ratcliffe, Lucas McDonald, George Green, Adam Towns, Evan Burke, Zack Verinder, Thomas McVeigh, Hollie Brown, Cody Lyons-Ashworth, Orren Ridings and Ruby O’Dea-Baxter. SPONSORED EVENT - This will be taking place during Thursday afternoon and Friday next week. We are aiming to run enough miles between us to cover the distance from John O’ Groats to Land’s End. The EYFS/KS1 class and the KS2 class that raise the most money will take the ‘Wet Sponge Challenge’ where they will be aiming to land their sponge on their class teacher/s and TAs!!
