Confessions Sat 10.30am and 5.30pm St. John’s Reflection 31st Sunday - 5th November 2017 Today as we start Remembrance Month, and life is slowly slipping away, the Church presents Jesus criticising the so called religious people. Why? The Church is reminding us, take a look at yourself. He is now speaking to each of us, his followers, asking us to do a little selfevaluation. Am I really a follower of His? Is God part of my life? Do I allow Him influence what I say and do? Or has my faith become just a name tag? We promised to live and show Him to the children and to one another. But do I practice what I preach? Over the last few weeks we heard how we must show love by witnessing for Him. Many do this, like Mother Teresa. Oscar Romero, Fr. Damian and others. But do we? Jesus calls those who fail to live up to be what they promised ‘Hypocrites’. Surely we would never like to be thought of like that. Yet if we fail to practice what we preach (We are for Christ), if we fail to give leadership and example at home or anywhere, are we any different to those criticised? During this month we remember all our loved ones and ask God to give them Eternal Happiness, let us not just remember them, but imitate and then they will always be close to us. “A good example has twice the value of good advice.” Sick: Eddie Flynn, Robert Cahill, Mary Kearns, Tom Williams, Nancy Kirrane, Jim Prendergast, Kitty Farren, Nigel Mottram, Madeline Patten, Michael Moore, Claire Facchinni, Una Furlong, Linda Pelusi, May Murphy, Mary Canny, Cath & Julie Stockton, Joe Kinsella, Nancy Jones, Mary Lally, Jim Flynn, Joe Kelly, Martin Noone, Chris Cuffe, Margaret & Tommy Casserley, Mick Connors, Betty Redmond, Eddie & Mazie Farrell, Anne Calvey, Tommy Murray, Tony Howley, Baby Hale-Seale, Maureen Dalingwater, John Regan, Debbie Mahon, “Every Saint has a past and every sinner has a future.” Lately Dead: PJ (peter James) Newell (Req Mon 13/11 10.00am), Tony Bailey (Req.
