Friday 20th April Wednesday Word – TRUST Twitter - @saintoswalds THIS WEEK – During our Come and See sessions we have continued to think about the good news we receive and have set up a Good News board in our classroom, for the children to share any good news they may have. Within Literacy, we have listened to the story of Walking Through the Jungle and have been writing descriptions for animals in the story. In Maths, we have been ordering numbers from different starting points, forwards and backwards within 20 and finding the missing numbers in the number sequences. During the afternoon, we will be continuing to look at the jungle environment and creating our own jungle environment for the small world area. During our phonics sessions we have focussed on Mrs Gill and Mrs Hart’s group – will be introduced to ow and ur and the word you, her and are. Mrs Ryan and Mrs Riding’s group - will be introduced to ow and ur and the word you, her and are. Miss Woolley’s group – will be introduced to igh and the word she. NEXT WEEK – During our Come and See sessions we will be recapping the good news of Easter and listening to the story of Pentecost. Within Literacy, we will be listening to the story of Dear Zoo and continuing with animal descriptions. In Maths, we will be ordering random numbers from different starting points, forwards and backwards within 20 and challenging some children with reasoning problems. During the afternoon, we will be thinking about how the animals camouflage themselves in the jungle and creating animal patterns through collage. During our phonics sessions, we will be focussing on: Mrs Gill and Mrs Hart’s group – will be introduced to oi and ar and the word you and are. Mrs Ryan and Mrs Riding’s group – will be introduced to oi and ar and the word you and are. Miss Woolley’s group – will be introduced to ee and oo and the word me. WEEKLY CHALLENGE – Thank you for all your examples of good news. This week we are asking your child to complete the handwriting homework. CREATIVE CLUB – Creative club for Class 1K will start next week, Wednesday 25th April. The children attending the club have already received a flyer regarding the dates and information about the club. TASTY TOAST – Please remember to send in tasty toast money if your child is having toast at break time. Thank you for your support in this matter.
