UPCOMING CONFERENCES Our Middle Leader Conference will take place at LACE Conference Centre on Thursday 14th June 2018. This event is for aspirational middle leaders looking to move on to senior leadership in the coming years. The day will cover Spiritual leadership, Archdiocesan vision and strategic plan, Dealing with challenging situations, Managing change, Leadership styles and Time management. There is no cost for attending this event. Places are limited to 3 colleagues from each school, but more places may be available nearer the time of the event. Please contact your CPD Lead to book a place, accessing our online booking system using this link 1 Winter 2015 Further information can be found Newsletter—Edition on our website www.lassp.co.uk

Our Post 16 Conference will be held at LACE Conference Centre on Wednesday 4th July 2018. The event includes an afternoon session with Oxford Analytics who will present on the latest DfE Post 16 Performance Measures and will be producing a summary report so that each school will be working from their own data during the session. The cost of attending is £60 per delegate for schools within the Trust and £100 for those colleagues not within the Archdiocese of Liverpool Secondary School Improvement Trust. There is no limit on the number of people attending from any one school and we would encourage at least two colleagues to attend. This may well involve your Data Officer due to the information that will be provided during the afternoon session. Please note that this is open to colleagues from other schools outside of the Trust. This is due to the nature of the agenda and the interest schools and colleges will have in this conference, given the presentations taking place on the day. Therefore, please pass on to other colleagues within your wider school networks. Senior leaders from 11-16 schools would also find this useful in keeping up to date with changes at Post 16 and this information can be cascaded to other pupils and colleagues within their school. Please book your place here by 5th June ensuring that you quote a purchase order number, as invoices will be sent automatically to your finance office. The agenda and booking instructions, including those for non-Trust schools, can be found on our website www.lassp.co.uk

Hope University Chapel

Student Media Competition 2017/18 At the time of publication of this newsletter we are currently liaising with Hope University to incorporate our Student Media Competition into their ‘Big Hope’ event. Big Hope is a Global Youth Congress focused on three objectives: to enhance integrity in public life, to develop a more human global society and to examine what individuals can do to achieve these objectives, and will be an excellent opportunity to showcase the talent of our students.

Newsletter—Edition 1 Winter 2015

Thirteen of our schools are taking part in this competition, and we are looking to run the event on Monday 18th June. Presentations of prizes will be made at schools following the event and local media will be informed of all those receiving prizes. Our next edition will feature a selection of photos from this event and details of the winning students and schools.

NPQ Facilitator Training On 23rd February the following colleagues came together for training delivered by Outstanding Leaders Partnership, the Licensee provider for all NPQ programmes that we facilitate across the Trust: Ian Walker (Sacred Heart), Karl Smith, Mike Hill (Carmel College), Chris Meldrum, Anne-Marie Horrocks (St Mary’s Leyland), James Lloyd (St Francis Xavier’s College), Jenny Mills (Maricourt), Clare Hallwood (Our Lady Queen of Peace), Scott Maclean (St John Bosco) and Kate Verdin (Saints Peter and Paul Catholic College) . Training was undertaken in advance of our NPQSL and NPQML sessions taking place in April, June and November for those enrolled on the spring programmes. We look forward to building our team of Facilitators and the number of colleagues who attend these courses in the future.
