Lomeshaye Life It has been a great start to the new term at Lomeshaye. Everyone has returned to school ready to continue with some more amazing learning—we have even had our own Harry Potter’s creating potions in Year 5 this week, how exciting! This week our attendance is 96.5% for the whole school. I am very pleased to announce that this is just above our target and I am happy to see so many children back in school after been off due to illness. Let’s make a big effort next week to get as many children into school as possible to help us to go beyond our target of 96%. Able and Talented Writers— on Wednesday a group of writers from across school had the opportunity to meet a real life author and work with them to develop their writing and story ideas. The children, along with Mrs Fallows, went to meet other children from the local area at Heasandford Primary School in Burnley, where they got the chance to work with the author for the full day. I look forward to reading some of the stories that the children write in the future—maybe one day they will be published authors themselves. Great British Spring Clean—On Sunday 4th March people from the local community are going to take part in the Great British Spring Clean. If you would like to join in with the Whitefield Community Association on their clean up they would really appreciate your help from 10am-12 noon. You can meet outside the school gates from 9.45am on 4th March to join in the litter pick and tidy up, all equipment will be provided.
