MAY NEWSLETTER 2016 Hello, I am very pleased to be able to inform you that Miss Kelly Martin will be joining the Leadership Team in September as our Deputy Headteacher. Kelly will be in school during the week following the holiday and I will introduce her to you at our usual morning greetings. I know she is very eager to join us and is spending a week of her holiday at Rye Primary, I think that says it all! I am also pleased to say that Mr Darren Gurr is remaining at Rye Primary. Darren has chosen to return to the role of class teacher, one he has been missing as Deputy. Darren is an outstanding teacher and your children will benefit from his experience. He will also remain a member of the Leadership Team. We have been extremely proud of our Year 2 and Year 6 children, who have completed their SATs with positivity and resilience. Thank you for your support through this difficult time for them, though in school we have ensured, and been successful in reducing any anxiety. Thank you also to the those parents who have commented positively on how well we achieved this. Please could I ask that any child coming to school on a bike or scooter dismounts at the school gates and takes it immediately to the shelter. Unfortunately people have been getting hurt. Have a good holiday and see you on Monday 6th June for our exciting final Term. Jane Howard
Headteacher
Attendance Percentages since September 2015 We are constantly trying to improve our attendance which remains below the national average and thank the PTA for their funding support in giving the winning class ÂŁ10 each week to bank for their own financial management decisions. We will therefore publish the class percentages on each newsletter for your information. Please help us by ensuring your child attends school at all times unless they are too ill to do so. Well done to Clownfish, Sea Turtles, Lobsters, Killer Whales, Jellyfish, Sharks and Dolphins for achieving 95% or above. Minnows
