Things to remember

– Book bag everyday (preferably no rucksacks please)
– Reading diary and reading book in school everyday.
– PE –Wednesday
– Kit for PE – team t-shirt and shorts/ jogging bottoms , hoody/school jumper, trainers (Wear to school)
Please bring another pair of shoes in school on PE days so that children have a clean pair of shoes inside and then trainers for outside PE.
– A pair of wellies or outdoor shoes to be kept in our classroom all week for wet days.
– Please ensure correct uniform is worn.
– Please encourage children carry their own belongings – promote independence!
– Names on clothes please!!!




Rewards and Sanctions
House tokens Golden Tokens (earnt by a class)
Reading - 1 star if reading at home >5 times a week. 5 stars earns a ‘dip in the box’
Quiet critters and Stars in the Jar – Hot Chocolate Friday – Praise Assembly – Children to follow behaviour policy – warning, reflection, meeting

Snack
– Water bottle (only water) every day please
– Healthy snack from home OR money (in a named purse) for snack for morning break
– Fruit provided for afternoon break



Homework and Spellings



– Read everyday and write in their reading diary. Children will receive golden stamps for their reading.
– Numbots is used for Maths
– Purple Mash is an additional/optional activity
– Usernames and Passwords will be put in reading diaries once introduced to the children. (Monday 15th September)
– Reading comprehension – will be set on a Monday for the following Monday. This will start on Monday 15th September.
Curriculum
Reading and Writing
– Read Write Inc programme continued from Reception daily.
– Phonics screening test in June.
– Handwriting and sentence writing will be taught everyday
– Ready Steady Write curriculum for Writing.
Maths
– Mastering Number daily
– Power Maths

Tapestry

– We will continue to use Tapestry up until Christmas mainly for communication
– Class or Year Group Events
– Wider curriculum home learning activities
– Not for individual child observations
