Monday 23rd May 2016 Our News! Our vegetable patch and herb garden is looking really good and it is all thanks to the hard work of Mrs Moss, Ms Watmough and all of the children who have helped. We think that Mamie Walker is a budding gardener and expect to see her at the Chelsea Flower Show in the future! The children have thoroughly enjoyed reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar and lots of different non-fiction books about mini-beasts. We had a surprise letter delivered through the sky light by a very nervous, worried caterpillar. The children were all amazing and wrote lovely letters in reply, putting the caterpillar’s mind at ease, explaining what is going to happen to it. They have also drawn and labelled some amazing butterfly life cycles. They have learned lots of lovely songs about different mini-beasts and perform them really well. We have had some snails to visit our classroom and the children have enjoyed finding out which vegetables from our snack table they like to eat! In Mathematics the children have been creating symmetrical beetles and butterflies and have been recapping over the names and properties of 2D shapes. Snack time has been particularly yummy this week! The children have used lots of different salad vegetables and fruit pieces to make edible butterflies! In PE the children have been practising the skipping and sack races ready for Sports Day.
