This half term, the children will be learning about the core beliefs and differences between the 6 main world faiths:

Where did we come from?

Computing E-safety ‘We are co-authors ‘– the children will produce a Wiki.

English Links: Writing for an audience and for a purpose. Proofreading, editing skills.

Writing Opportunities  Writing their own figurative language poems  A diary entry from a character’s perspective  Write their own folk tale

French This term year 4 will be learning how to speak French in full sentences:  Weather  Greeting  Age Music 4TM will carry on with their weekly cornet sessions. They will be preparing for their end of term performance.

PE Year 4 will be working on the following units:  

Striking and fielding Athletics

Proposed unit outcomes The children will plan, draft, edit and improve and write a final piece of writing for each unit of work.

PSHE Year 4 will be looking at the question: Where do we come from?

They will also continue with their work on current affairs through Newsround.

How can I support my child at home?

Year 4 will be visiting other schools within the MAT and running circus workshops for other children.

Year 4 have set themselves a challenge for every child to complete an hour on Lexia and an hour on RM maths each week.

We will use the profits from these workshops to plan an end of year trip of our choice.

Every child knows their username and password; please ask your teacher if you need it again.

Health & Wellbeing

Thank you for your continued support in developing your child’s reading.

However, we still have lots of work to do so please ensure that you read at least 3 times a week with your child. Remember to ask question about the text as you read with your child.

Year 4 will continue to develop their knowledge around healthy eating Please continue to take any opportunity you have to practice times tables and lifestyles within the classroom. They will take their knowledge with your child. Even if it is 3 minutes a day, this will have a positive impact from the FIT2GO programme and use this to keep a food diary. on their learning in Math’s.
