Context – What do we Know? We will be asking the children if they know who their grown-ups liked when they were young. Are they still famous now? We will compare them to the famous people the children like today.
Maths Time – sequencing time in terms of days, weeks, months and years Multiplication and Division - solving one-step problems Subtraction – finding the difference between two numbers Measurement - using cm /m Sorting – recognising repeating patterns

Writing Opportunities
We will be writing non-chronological reports about the History of Blackpool’s Circus. We will be looking at the features of non-chronological reports, planning our reports and once written, we will edit them with our Purple Polishing Pens. We will also be learning how to write postcards and then we will be looking at traditional rhymes and we will be writing our own rhymes.
We will be writing information about Blackpool Circus in History and focussing our nonchronological reports on what we find out. In Science, we will be planning and writing up investigations about our topic on Humans.
Science Topic: Humans We will be looking at humans and comparing ourselves to animals. We will look at body parts and create pictograms to represent our differences. We will also be learning which body parts are associated with our senses.
Starting point – Hook and Wow! We will be looking at famous people from the past and discussing if they would be good on a talent contest like Britain’s got Talent. We will then hold our own BGT auditions.

Design Technology
We will be researching the history of Blackpool and its attractions and comparing them through different time periods. We will be finding out what music and entertainment was popular when our grown ups were little as well as exploring various types of clothing worn.
Music
We will be investigating how to make a hat for a clown that is suitable in all weather. We will plan, create and evaluate our chosen designs.
Computing We will be doing lots of short activities this half-term. We will be revisiting how to format text, creating an animation, researching a topic on the web and creating a digital card.
History
We will be focussing on steady beats and rhythm using our bodies as percussion. PE
RE
Games – we will be kicking, throwing and catching in different ways. We will also be striking and fielding.
Christianity – We will focus on our Key Question, ‘What do people say about God?’ We will be reading different Parables and exploring their meanings.
