Cash Payments at the Office To avoid cash payments at the school office; for dinners, breakfast club, afterschool etc. we offer an online secure payment system-school gateway. This can be set up for you by the school office staff who require an email address and mobile phone number. This saves the school office staff a lot of work and means that we are able to reduce the amount of cash kept in school. Please speak to the admin staff as soon as possible to set up your account.

Punctuality To avoid any upset, please ensure your child arrives in plenty of time; doors open at 8.45am and close when the bell goes at 8.55am. Children arriving late should register at the school office with their Parents.

Welfare The school nurse is in school on a Friday afternoon. If you would like to speak to her about any concerns please ring school and speak to Mrs Radcliffe who will arrange an appointment for you.

Health and Safety Notices.

Metal Fencing Outside Mrs Heslop’s Class.

The children were spoken to in assembly yesterday about the dangers of swinging on the metal railings outside Mrs Heslop’s class, on the KS2 playground. For health and safety reasons please do not let your child swing on the railings before or after school.

Nursery and Reception Climbing Frame.

Due to health and safety reasons and insurance liability the climbing frame must not be used by children before and after school. Please do not let your children on the climbing frame during these times.

Leaving Unaccompanied Children on the Playground Before School.

Children should not be left on the playground unaccompanied before 8.45am.

This is because school supervision does not start until 8.45am; before this time there will be no adult looking after your child and ensuring their safety.

Parent PREVENT Information Session – Tuesday 26th April.

This is an important event for parents about keeping children safe from radicalisation and extremism. There are still places available!

Witness Year of Mercy Thank you to all those children who have donated some of their pocket money as part of the Year of Mercy. Father Glover announced that just over £60 has been raised so far. We will be putting today’s ‘St George’s Day wear your own clothes donations’ towards the total. Next week is the last chance for your child to give some of their spends/pocket money to support the Pope’s Year of Mercy.

St Joseph’s Penny Lenten Collections- during Lent we raised £1500 through the Penny Boxes collections, sponsored events, tuck shop sales etc. This is a wonderful amount which will be use by the Diocese for deserving causes within our own diocese of Salford. Thank you for your generosity.

Worship  Year 1, 2 and Chaplains Parish Mass- This Sunday, 24th April, please ensure your child is in Church for 10.20am.

Future Events.

HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY. We would like to wish Queen Elizabeth II a very happy 90th birthday. We will be celebrating her official birthday during week beginning Monday 23rd Maythis will culminate in a special party day on Thursday 26th May.

Important Information Changes to the School Timetable September 2016.

This week, St Anne’s governing body discussed the changing primary curriculum and increased expectations of all our pupils. In order to rise to the challenge of meeting these expectations and in line with government expectations, they therefore decided to extend the school day until 3.30pm for children from September. This will mean that registration and lessons will continue to start at 8.55am, children will have a 50 minute lunch break and a 15 minute morning break ( Key Stage 1 will also continue to have an afternoon break of up to 15 minutes) before finishing for the day at 3.30pm.

I will inform you of any changes to afterschool care club as soon as they have been agreed.

Breakfast club will continue as normal.

Parents Meeting Dates Parents meetings with teachers to discuss pupil progress will be run on the following days, between 9.00am and 5pm. If you are unable to make the arrangements for that date please speak to your child’s teacher who will endeavour to arrange an alternative date.
