Please think about baking cakes for the cake stall as we have lost a couple of our main provider this year and are in dire need of bakers to make up the loss.

Friday 13th May at 7.00pm. Steve Bentley is holding a meeting in the parish hall to discuss the running of the Summer Fayre. He also hopes to elicit other ideas for different fund raising events. Please do support this meeting and Fr. Glover would also like to appeal to the various national communities who are now part of our parish to send representatives to this meeting with fresh ideas for social/fund raising events. Jesus shows us by his relationship with the disciples, that the life of his people is rooted in worshipping God together but also in social events where we have to opportunity to grow closer together and become more aware and knowledgeable of the various cultures that make up the people of God. Margaret, Bernadette and their family, offer a heartfelt thank you to all who attended the funeral mass for Susan Fox, sent messages of condolence, had masses offered and supported them in so many ways. A mass is being said for you all.

Gavin Landers is to be ordained Deacon at Oscott Seminary on 25th June. If you wish to send him greetings and well wishes there are cards on the piety stall and the address is St. Mary’s Seminary, Oscott College, Chester Road, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, B73 5AA. Year 4 will be attending Mass on Tuesday and staying for devotions until 10.00am.

Year 3 class Mass in school on Tuesday at 2.15pm everyone is welcome to attend.

The toilet in Church and the three sacristies are in great need of painting and the ceilings papering with a lining paper prior to painting. It is over ten years since these were last done. Are you good at painting and decorating and if so are you willing to take this on? If there are a few of you rooms can be allocated but if there are only one or two of you it will be a matter of prioritising and working out a time scale. Please let Fr. Glover know if you are willing to take this work on.

St. Anne’s Book of Remembrance. At the Noon Mass on the first Saturday of each month I shall place “The Book of Remembrance” on the altar and the Mass will be offered for the souls of all those whose names are contained in the book. If you wish the name/s of members of your family recording in the book please complete one of the slips that are available in the Narthex and return it to Fr. Glover with your donation. This will mean that your loved ones will be remembered at Mass each month, in addition to the masses you would normally ask to be offered on their anniversary or in memory of their birthday.

Places in our school. It is essential that any catholic parent who wishes their child to have a place at our school registers them as soon as possible. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR CHILD IS READY TO GO TO SCHOOL as you may find a place isn’t available. If you haven’t registered your child even if a place is available your child’s name and offer of a place will not have been passed to the local education authority by the school and subsequently a place at a non catholic school may well be offered.

Divine Mercy Prayer Group meets in church every third Sunday of the month 3.00pm until 4.00pm.

Copper Jar. There is a jar next to Francis in the Narthex at St Anne’s Church. We are collecting 1p, 2p and 5p pieces should you have any spare to place in it.
