MAY NEWSLETTER 2016 Hello, We are very pleased with the progress of our extension and have been thankful that our builders, Morgan Sindall , have been so community conscious in keeping our children involved in the excitement of a new building. The extension will provide a purpose built Nursery on the ground floor, enabling the Early Years Foundation Stage Team to work seamlessly with our 2—5 year olds and bringing the nursery onto the school site. The ability to provide a curriculum for our youngest children in an environment which is specifically dedicated to their needs, with our experienced teaching staff, is a very positive step for the children of Rye and something we are looking forward to immensely. This opportunity to extend our already outstanding early years provision is to be celebrated. Our curriculum across the school is based on engaging children’s interests and curiosity for learning through enjoyable and memorable visits into the environment. One that certainly won’t be forgotten was Pugwash Nursery’s trip to the Rare Breeds Centre at Woodchurch. Children rode on the tractor-trailer, met the animals and had a lovely day together. Many thanks to all the parents and carers who gave their time to make this possible and as always a well done to our hardworking Nursery staff. Jane Howard Headteacher
Attendance Percentages since September 2015 We are constantly trying to improve our attendance which remains below the national average and thank the PTA for their funding support in giving the winning class £10 each week to bank for their own financial management decisions. We will therefore publish the class percentages on each newsletter for your information. Please help us by ensuring your child attends school at all times unless they are too ill to do so. Well done to Clownfish, Sea Turtles, Lobsters, Barracudas, Killer Whales, Jellyfish and Dolphins for achieving 95% or above. Minnows
