Mrs Anna Whitfield - Interim Chair Hi, My name is Anna Whitfield and I have been a school governor at Linden Road Primary School since June 2015, I am a community governor but I also have twin boys at the school.

I wanted to become a governor because I want to contribute to the life of the school and be constructive, informed and involved.

I work part time managing a team of Youth Support Workers helping young people in Manchester overcome barriers to getting into education, employment or training, My hope is that some of those skills and some of that experience will benefit Linden Road Academy.

When I'm not working or racing round after rascals, I love reading, rock pooling, dancing and eating popcorn!

Mrs Margret Green - Parent Live: Denton Job: Pharmacy Technician at Tameside hospital I became a governor in October 2012 I am a parent governor with 2 children at the school.

What I like about Linden Road is that the staff are extremely professional and approachable. Parents are definitely listened to.

Lynette Mees - Staff Hello all, most people know me from my work within the school or because I live in the local community. I have worked at Linden Road for ten years, growing in my learning alongside the children. Over time my job role has developed from promoting physical development to mentoring children and supporting families.

I have seen lots of change at Linden Road, something many schools throughout the country have experienced, like most parents I don't always feel as though I am as up to date in my knowledge or understanding with this change but I am not a shy person and will ask those questions that some may see as obvious.

I love to try new things whether it be a sporting activity ,food and belting out a song (I really do not have the X Factor but can laugh at some of my sorry attempts)

Andrea Ives - Principal Education is one of my many passions and after a career as a Food Technologist, designing food products for the high street supermarkets; I retrained as a teacher and have never looked back. I have worked in both primary and high schools, and for a number of years worked for the Local Authority helping school leaders develop the quality of their provision. In my spare time I love to spend time travelling, cooking and walking my fabulous Pug, Winston. A perfect weekend is spent with my family and a good book.

Peter Greaves, Teacher Governor My role on Linden Road’s Governing Body is as the Teacher Representative. This complements my day to day role as Vice Principal and coordinator of assessment, mathematics, and science as it means I am able to discuss matters related to these areas with governors and make sure they have a complete picture of what is happening in school.

I have experience of being on another school’s Governing Body as a parent governor, and understand how new governor’s feel about attending meetings for the first time.

Away from school I am a busy father of three children. My older children are 12 and 8 years old, and my youngest is just 7 months.

Mike Gates - Community Governor/Parent Chair of Finance Committee and Interim Vice Chair Hi, My name is Mike Gates and I have been a school governor at Linden Road Academy for a number of years.

I wanted to become a governor because I wanted to give something back not only to the school my children attend but the community that I have been a part of for many years. I am proud to have been a part of the transition the school has made into an outstanding and unique place for children to learn and grow.

I work as a Team Manager in the Welfare to Work industry helping the long term unemployed of Manchester & Stockport overcome barriers to getting into Apprenticeships and sustainable employment.

I believe my professional skill set coupled with a passion and pride for the local community will benefit Linden Road Academy as we strive to become a consistently "Outstanding" school of choice.

Emma Newton - Parent. Member of Finance Committee. SEN Governor My name is Emma Newton and I have been a parent of the Linden Road community for many years. I relish the opportunity to become more involved in the academy and hope to be able to bring years of experience in management and as a volunteer to complement the staff, governors and trust. It is my passion to ensure children are able to access an education they deserve without barriers.
