Where are the Rainforests?
What is the Climate like in the
To start off our topic, we will be looking at where the different Rainforests are
Rainforest?
located in the world. To help us do this, we will be looking in atlases and creating our own rainforest map. We will also be learning about different countries and continents and where the rainforests are in relation to these.
We will be learning and understanding about the climate in the Rainforest and what it would be like to live here. We will be finding out about the significance of the equator and how this affects the Rainforest.
Does the rainforest have layers? We will be learning a song to help us understand the different layers of the Rainforest and how all the layers are very different. We will be finding out the key features of each layer and how they differ from each other.
What is The Amazon?
Who lives in the rainforest?
We will be learning about the geographical similarities and differences of the Amazon
We will be doing some of our own research to find out what lives in
Rainforest and Sherwood forest. We will particularly be focusing on how humans have such a big impact on the rainforests today.

We must protect the rainforest! We will be thinking about how we can help protect the rainforest and why protecting it is so important. We will be making leaflets to explain to people they can protect the rainforest and the effect humans are having on these amazing places today.
Rousseau’s Rainforest We will be studying Henri Rousseau’s rainforest paintings in order to create own art in Rousseau’s style. We will be using a range of collage techniques such as tearing, overlapping and layering to create images.
