Year 10 Textiles students went on a trip to Unit 12 Art Gallery in Stafford where they completed a workshop with the artist Jennifer Collier.

They completed the workshop experimenting with a range of techniques including wax, PVA glue and melting. In the morning the students produced a sketchpad and in the afternoon they made shoes and shoe boxes. Lots of fantastic work was produced towards their GCSE coursework.

Rewards Celebration Congratulations to all the students who attended the rewards celebration on Thursday 7th April. A celebration of good attendance and behaviour rewarded with fun games and a day in non-uniform. All thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Speed Bingo’, ‘Random Raffle’, food and drinks. Well done to all the prize winners including; Tony Winter, Ben Westworth, Simi Singh and Bhavika Mistry who won vouchers to the Odeon Cinema. We look forward to seeing the majority celebrate the Year End Rewards Trip in July.

Mini Teachers This term, my top set year 7s were ‘mini teachers’. Using their knowledge of punctuation which we had been working on in class, each group was given their own specialist piece of punctuation to teach to their peers in a 10 minute mini lesson. There was a plethora of different teaching activities on display including: quizzes, handouts, homework tasks marked by the pupils themselves and even an animated video teaching the pupils how to use colons. Every pupil put a lot of time and effort into this and learnt a lot in the process.
