Our School We are proud to serve the community of Bispham and North Blackpool and feel that we are part of the fabric of the community.

A warm welcome to our school! Moor Park is a large primary school where the individual matters, we aim to provide the best possible support, challenge and nurture to enable your child to fulfill their potential.

Staff are passionate about delivering an amazing learning experience and believe that this happens best when we work in partnership with you.

We believe that the Primary years lay the foundation for all that is to follow, so it is most important that positive attitudes to learning are formed and nurtured. We want our children to enjoy all aspects of their primary school years.

We encourage children to be risk takers, to be brave in their learning, to meet their challenges and not to be afraid to try. We aim for the children to leave us at age 11 being successful learners and confident young people with high self esteem.

We believe if we have helped the children to develop their self esteem, they will grow up to be resilient and meet all life’s challenges head on.

We are a successful family made up of children, staff, parents and governors and we work hard as a team to provide an environment where everybody is treated equally and encouraged to do their best.

Built in 1952 to accommodate the post war baby boom, Moor Park has been a beacon of education within the local area. We celebrate the area we are a part of by exploring local history, working with local charities and holding community events.

Nursery

Playing is our game, education is our aim!

At Moor Park we believe that play empowers children to make choices and captively engages them in their learning - it is what they know and can do best. In their play, they are able to apply and practise skills while experimenting to make new discoveries.

In our nursery you will find a play based environment both indoor and outdoors which will cater for children’s interests and development needs.

Our nursery provides full day care with 2 sessions available across the day for children ages 3 - 4 years.

We are a highly motivated staff who care passionately about the children in our care. We are continually striving to deliver learning that inspires and challenges your child to develop a love of learning.

We believe that children learn best in an environment where they feel safe and secure, where they are free to make mistakes and learn from them and when learning ignites the spark of excitement.

Our topics instill a sense of pride in the locality, awe and wonder in exploring our past and place creativity and resilience at the heart of the curriculum. We work in partnership with Blackpool FC Community Trust to deliver outstanding PE lessons that balance being competitive with what it means to be a true sports-person and understanding fair play.

LEARNING & Teaching‌

Together!

From the Beginning ‌ From Day one, we encourage our pupils to become independent learners. Our experienced Foundation Stage Team follow the interests of the children to develop unique learning experiences as diverse as Super Heroes and Dinosaurs.

They access the outdoor area to stimulate their imagination and develop their skills as talkers. We know that developing pupils as strong readers, writers and mathematicians is important and, as such, we deliver high quality phonics every day to support reading and spelling

Improvements in results saw us climb to number 3 in the League Tables in Blackpool Schools 2014 – something we are building on this year!

However, we know there is more to life than SATs results, our curriculum develops learners that love learning and are well prepared for life in secondary school and beyond.

and use Numicon (a practical maths resource) to develop a strong sense of number and calculation. We balance learning through play with a more formal approach to ensure our students develop their potential.

Through high quality teaching, pupils progress and develop and make greater than expected progress by the time they leave Year 6. Our 2014 data placed us in the top 3 schools in Blackpool and we are aiming to be in the top 5% of schools Nationwide for 2015 and beyond.

It’s not all about hard work!

During your child’s time at Moor Park, your child will have the opportunity to learn a brass instrument and showcase their talents during a celebration assembly.

Performing in front of a packed theatre on the stage of the Grand Theatre is a real highlight of the school year.

Netball

We recognise that every child has their own unique talents that need nurturing. We offer a wide range of learning activities out of the classroom to ensure they experience a rich and varied time at Moor Park.

We also have a wide range of exciting after school clubs where your child will be able to develop their natural skills and talents ready for high school and the world beyond.

Singing plays an important part in our school; we have dedicated singing assemblies each week to develop the musicality of the whole school. We encourage those who have a real talent in this field the opportunity to perform in our school choir which meet weekly to develop songs that showcase their talents.

Offering a wide variety of sport clubs allows children to develop their own sporting interests and all children are encouraged to take part in a wide variety of sports from Dodge Ball to Rugby to Taekwondo.

Being competitive is an important sports trait that allows children to learn how to be as gracious in defeat as in winning. We offer your child the opportunity to take part in a range of competitions as a local, regional and national level to develop an all-round sporting interest.
