Lomeshaye Life What a fantastic term we have had! The children have been involved in some amazing learning and have had many wonderful experiences to enhance their work including exciting adventures at Whitehough, visits to the park, watching baby chickens hatch and grow and our fabulous open afternoon. Read on to find out about what has been happening this week and what is planned for after the holiday Year 3 Visit to Whitehough—last week 42 of our Year 3 pupils went on an amazing adventure. They went for two days and one night to the Whitehough Outdoor Education Centre where they took part in a whole host of fabulous activities such as den building, climbing, caving and orienteering. This is the first time in Lomeshaye’s history that pupils in Year 3 have been on a residential trip and they absolutely loved it! The school staff that accompanied them were so impressed with their enthusiasm and independence over the two days and the staff at the education centre were thrilled with everyone’s excellent attitude and behaviour. When I went to visit the children on the second day they were all bursting to tell me about the exciting activities that they had taken part in and how much fun they had been having, it was a pleasure to speak with everyone and see them having such fun. Special thanks go to Mr. Heseldon and the staff that accompanied the children for their hard work and great organisation.
Always Children—On Monday we had a special celebration day for all of the pupils that had shown good or better behaviour for the whole of the Spring term. These pupils are called our ALWAYS CHILDREN because they always behave very well in and around school. They had a fun filled day with treats and a special bouncy slide from Burnley Football Club. Official Opening Event—On Thursday afternoon the school hosted it’s official opening event for the new part of our building. This event was planned and organised by our new Deputy Headteacher, Mrs. Spokes who did a fantastic job co-ordinating the whole afternoon and helping us to showcase the amazing opportunities and facilities that we have at Lomeshaye Junior School. It was wonderful to see so many parents, families and friends over the course of the afternoon. We hope that you all had a lovely time and that you were thoroughly entertained by our dancing, music and singing.
