Liverpool Archdiocese Secondary Schools’ Partnership Newsletter

A huge thank you! We start this Summer issue with a huge thank you to all of our schools and colleges who support the Partnership by engaging in collaborative opportunities to enable the sharing of good practice, supporting colleagues and providing valuable input for our many events. Thank you for an exciting and dynamic year of Partnership. This last edition of 2015/16 features our series of Preparing to Teach GCSE events, information on our NPQH course and the upcoming Radicalisation and Extremism Newsletter—Edition 1 Winter 2015 PSHE Day . Upcoming events are also listed on the last pages of the newsletter, but you can have an up to date view of the calendar and current news from the website by visiting www.lassp.co.uk or clicking here

Post 16 Conference Later this term, on Tuesday 5th July, there will be the first Post 16 Conference. A leading representative from the policy team at the Department for Education will be presenting as well as representatives from UCAS and with other key leaders involved in Post 16 matters confirming their attendance, the day looks like being both thought provoking and informative as we hear about the Department’s policies and how we respond as leaders to the impact upon our students. This will also be a useful event for schools with no sixth form to also attend so that they can gain an understanding of the Post 16 landscape. As some key speakers will also be discussing innovative solutions regarding learning in the classroom, this may possibly be adapted to pre sixth form students.

Senior Leaders Conference There will also be the second Senior Leaders Conference taking place in June. The conference has been put together with the help of sixth form leaders. As usual schools are able to send up to three representatives to attend this free event that is supported and sponsored by the Archdiocese. For this and the Post 16 Conference, as usual, please book via Vikki Borlase at v.borlase@rcaolp.co.uk
