We are going to create our own settlement. Maths Week 1- Place value, Roman numerals, counting including negative numbers Week 2- Fractions and decimals Week 3- Fractions, decimals and division Week 4- Position and direction Week 5-Area Week 6- Addition including statistics, measures, money Science What happens to food when you eat it? Children will have the opportunity to explore these different features of animals and humans:  The food chain  The digestive system  The different types of teeth

Where would you choose to build a settlement?

Design & Technology Year 4 will be creating their own model versions of a town or city that they have planned. This will be completed through our Geography topic. Computing

E-safety – Safer Internet Day 10

Geography Children will have the opportunity to explore settlements, land use, economic activity and natural resources including rivers. They will be discussing different places that people live and why they might choose to live there. They will be using the information that they find out to design and create their own cities.

Writing Opportunities Year 4 will work towards drafting, editing and writing a final draft of the following:  A classical poem  A story with a dilemma  A persuasive letter

Next term, year 4 get the opportunity to work alongside the Blackpool Football Club FIT2GO team. They will take part in a range of multi-skill lessons that will also prepare them for a FIT2GO festival that will take place later on in the year.
