At Wellfield Academy we are very fortunate to have supportive parents who recognise that educating young people is a process that involves a strong partnership between home and school, positive working relationships and clear lines of communication. C. The Student Services Team

What do the student services team do?

The Student Services Team is overseen by Mr Trainor. The team will:

• Respond to concerns about behaviour & attendance and help to put strategies in place

• Help implement the rewards and behaviour policy

• Work on attendance concerns

• Support both families and students as needed

• Help prepare students for next steps –transition in year 7 and further study in year 11

• Celebrate success and support when things don’t go quite right

We also have a team who support with your child’s personal development and, where appropriate, manage any safeguarding concerns. Personal Development and safeguarding are overseen by Mrs Park.

D. The Special Educational Needs Team

What does the SEND team do?

The SEND team is overseen by Miss Butterworth, who is also our SENDCO. The SEND team will:

• Responds to concerns about special education needs

• Support both families and students as needed

• Create Pupil Passports where required

• Upskill teaching staff to provide the best quality education for those with SEND/additional needs

• Get to know your child as an individual

E. The Quality of Education Team

Quality of Education

The Quality of Education is overseen by Mr Beattie, who works with Mrs Cadman to continually develop the quality of teaching and learning across the school. The team will:

• Enhances the curriculum offer within the school

• Improves the quality of teaching and learning

• Develops reading

• Ensures high quality and accurate assessments and data

• Identify students who require additional support and intervention
