Tourists have always visited Blackpool. There are some old trams. There’s always been a beach in Blackpool. Some hotels might have been in Blackpool a long time.

History – Blackpool Tower trip Science – Magnet investigation

Cooking and Nutrition (linked to Victorians) What would my dinner be back in time?  What was a typical weekly menu?  Where did the ingredients come from?  How were the ingredients prepared and what tools were used?  Can we write a recipe for a meal from that time period?  Can we prepare food as people did in the past?  How will we cook our food and how was it cooked in the past?  Was our diet healthier now or then and why?

A study of Local History taking account of a period of history that shaped the locality.  What made people come and live in Blackpool in the first place?  Has anyone famous ever lived in Blackpool?  How can we capture Blackpool’s history in art and music?  Why does Blackpool have a railway station and when was it opened?

Forces & Magnets What are forces? Are you attractive enough? Looking at how magnets attract/repel some materials, magnetic poles and friction.  What is a magnet and what is its relationship to the North Pole?  What do we mean by attract and repel?  What other force do we know about and how can we classify forces?

PE Striking/Fielding Invasion games

All religions What is so special about places?  What places are special to us and why?  What is special about Mount Hira to Muslims and the Mount of Olives to Jews and Christians?  What are the main features of a mosque, a church, a mandir and a gurdwara?  What places are near our school that have religious significance?  What do places of worship have in common and what are the differences?
