‘Dress up Day’ Last week we celebrated our love of books by holding a book fair and a fancy dress day. Thank you to each and every family who supported these two fantastic events, helping us to raise the profile of reading in our school. Thanks to your support at the book fair we have used the funds raised to buy books for our Shakespeare week in April. Watch out for Bug Club reading competitions!

From 21st April Mr McDonald will be running a drop in homework club every Thursday 3.15 to 4.15. More information will be sent out after Easter.

96% for whole school attendance The minimum acceptable attendance is 96%. If a child misses 8 days or more a year they will not achieve 96% this is reportable to Lancashire County Council and may result in a Penalty Notice being issued. Please ensure your children are in school every day and on time. School starts at 8.55am. Head Lice There has been a report of head lice in our school. “Head lice are tiny insects that live in human hair. They're particularly common in children. Head lice are whitish to grey-brown in colour, and smaller than the size of a pinhead when first hatched. When fully grown they're about the size of a sesame seed. They can't fly, jump or swim and are spread by head-tohead contact, climbing from the hair of an infected person to the hair of someone else. A head lice infestation isn't the result of dirty hair or poor hygiene. All types of hair can be affected, regardless of its length and condition.” (http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Head-lice) Please check your child’s hair tonight and treat if necessary. For more information please see website above.
