These camps provide technical and tactical instruction in all areas including goal keeping.

Learn fundamental techniques and skills necessary to be a successful lacrosse player by Chicago Outlaws Lacrosse. Conant Cougars Girls Basketball and Volleyball Camps

Led by Conant High School Head Girls Basketball Coach Deirdre Naughton and Head Girls Volleyball Coach Drewann Pancratz, this dual sport camp will emphasize the fundamentals of volleyball and basketball. The first half will be volleyball and the second half basketball. This camp will include sport specific skills, team building, competition and fun! Participants are encouraged to bring a basketball and knee pads to camp everyday.

Professional Soccer Academy

Mark Stilling Football Camp

All camps will place a strong focus on football fundamentals in a non-contact format.

While emphasizing individual skills, players will also be given instruction in the mechanics of team play. Daily activities include competitive team situations as well as skill development. Pickleball/Badminton Camps

Pickleball is a combination of ping pong, tennis and badminton. This competitive game for experienced players uses wood and graphite paddles and unique plastic balls. It is easy to learn, provides plenty of exercise and is played on a badminton court. You don’t have to be strong, quick, athletic or good at other sports. This game is not about power, but shot placement and accuracy. For more information, call the Sport Center at 847/891-1266.

An experienced staff of coaches, including college athletes, will teach your player a variety of soccer skills. Lil Pros Camps will introduce soccer in a fun, fast-paced environment that focuses on building balance, coordination, and fundamental soccer skills. While helping develop listening skills, cooperation, and teamwork. Pro Camp players will enhance their individual skill level to strengthen all technical areas. All facets of soccer (dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting and defense) will be worked on. Whether you are an experienced soccer player or a beginner, the Professional Soccer Academy staff will work to take your game to the next level. Both camps receive a T-shirt, water bottle and ball bag. Both camps spend the last day showing off the skills learned throughout the week with Soccer Olympics and a water fight (weather permitting). Athletics Skyhawks Flag Football Camps

Skyhawks Track & Field Camp

This program is perfect for beginner and intermediate young athletes who want a complete introduction to “America’s Game” or for those who simply want to brush up on their skills in preparation for league play. Through our “skill of the day” activities, campers will learn skills on both sides of the ball including the core components of passing, catching, and de-flagging or defensive positioning – all presented in a fun and positive environment. The week ends with the Skyhawks Super Bowl, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills on the gridiron! All participants receive a t-shirt, football, and player evaluation .The participant-to-coach ratio is approximately 12:1. Participants should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes, and sunscreen.

This program combines technical development and fundamental techniques with safety and a major focus on fun! Using special equipment, Skyhawks staff teach exercises and drills that prepare athletes for a future in cross-country, track & field events, and distance running while inspiring a love for running and being active. The fundamentals of body positioning, stride, proper stretching, and cool-down techniques are covered in this unique program. Skyhawks Beginning Golf Camp

This program focuses on building the confidence of young athletes by teaching proper technique to refine essential skills of the game. Golf is a challenging and lifelong sport, so young athletes need proper focus on the fundamentals of form, swinging, putting, and body positioning. To assist in this training, Skyhawks has adopted the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) system to its curriculum. SNAG utilizes a set of equipment designed for beginning golfers, including oversized plastic club heads and “mini tennis balls” to help build confidence and to have fun. Developed by PGA professionals, SNAG is specifically designed for the entry-level player and simplifies instruction for an easy, effective transition onto the golf course. No need to bring your own clubs-all equipment is provided.

The Chicago Bulls/White Sox Training Academy coaches will give each player an opportunity to receive baseball and basketball instruction taught to the pros. Youth Tennis Camps for Ages 4-6

Middle School Tennis Camps

Camps are designed for the junior player. All classes will be taught using the new USTA 10 and Under teaching style. Classes are designed to develop athleticism, hand-eye coordination and movement skills in a non-competitive cooperative environment. This is a fun introduction to tennis.

Camps are designed for the intermediate to advanced intermediate player. Players are grouped by ability and will learn all aspects of the game including technical strokes, keeping score, rallying and competing. Players will be given the opportunity to play team matches at the conclusion of the session.

Fruits and Veggies to the Rescue Camp

Parents know fruits and veggies are important to kids’ health and nutrition. But getting them to eat their fruits and veggies isn’t easy. General Interest Adventure Day Camps

These fun Monday-Friday camps are designed for children to enjoy a summer of recreational activities, swimming and field trips. Extended morning and afternoon care is offered for an additional fee. Campers must bring a sack lunch and bathing suit every day, unless otherwise specified. A detailed camp calendar will be sent prior to the start of camp. Chess Scholars Chess Camps

These camps are great for beginners and experienced players. Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both new and returning participants are welcome and will get to the next level under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach. There will also be a chess competition with prizes! Each camper will take home a chess set and an award.

General Interest Computer Game Design Camp

Specially designed software is used so campers can easily create multimedia computer games and animations. Developing a script or program is done by simply snapping together graphical program blocks much like LEGO® bricks or puzzle pieces. Participants will learn how to create computer games with custom background settings, characters, animated movements and sound effects. Students will receive a USB drive with the software and games made to take home at the conclusion of camp.

Master Jedi Engineering with LEGO Camp ®

The force is strong in this class. Build complex machines and structures based on designs from a galaxy far, far away. Projects include X-wings, AT-AT walkers, pod racers, star destroyers, cloud cities, settlements and fortresses. All About Frogs and Turtles

Though their calls are musical and differ from each other, trying to get a good look at a frog can be difficult! Campers willl learn how to identify frogs by their calls and go on a night hike to find them. Amateur Astronomers

♦ Nebulas, pulsars and dwarf planets, oh my! There is a world of mystery and beauty above our heads. Through a combination of art, storytelling and science, campers will spend the week exploring the night skies, identifying constellations and observing changes in celestial bodies. Spring Valley Squatchers

The Big Dig

The Valley Games

♦ Ladies and gentlemen, let the Valley Games begin! It is the one time of year when tributes from all over the District gather to compete for fun, fame and fortune. Tributes will spend time with mentors learning about wild edibles, building fires, mastering camouflage techniques and more while preparing for the challenges that lie ahead. Children will enter the arena and try to outwit fellow tributes in challenges that test teamwork, endurance and creativity. There will be a campout starting Friday night at 7 p.m. and ending Saturday at 10 a.m.

JUNIOR LEADER PROGRAM FOR 13 TO 15-YEAR-OLDS (Must meet age requirement by Jan. 1, 2015)

Schaumburg Park District is seeking enthusiastic 13 to 15-year-olds who want to become leaders and potential staff members. Applicants must be 13 years old by Jan. 1, 2015.

This fun experience is a great way to introduce the concept of employment responsibilities to teens. There will be a required fee of $22/$32 for the Junior Leader program. The fee is payable when registering for the Junior Leader Program. To register for Junior Leaders please use code 63747.

New Applicants

• Complete the Junior Leader application packet available at www. parkfun.com, CRC, PSC and MRC after Monday, March 2.

Required application and packet are due Friday, March 13 to: Teresa Varco Pat Shephard Center 421 N. Springinsguth Road Schaumburg, IL 60194

• Please call the Pat Shephard Center to set up an interview. Detailed information and interview times will be included with the Junior Leader paperwork. The $22/$32 registration fee is required for all Junior Leader Participants. Fee is due when registering for the program (barcode: 63747).
