Our fifth issue…what a journey!
Spring has sprung and with the lighter evenings our spirits are lifting and moods are swinging in an upbeat direction. In this Spring edition of Gravitas we want to celebrate the coming year with an overview of some of the exciting plans underway for the Greater Peterborough area and to showcase what is on our doorstep. We cannot forget that our most prominent city centre landmark, Peterborough Cathedral, celebrates its 900th anniversary with an array of activities planned that will open up this iconic building for everyone across the region to enjoy. The exciting development of Fletton Quays is progressing well, and a marketing suite is now open for the apartments and PIP has announced a renovation project to include a gin and whiskey distillery with a bar and restaurant. We want to showcase independent businesses within the area and always encourage the use of local retailers and services. With that in mind, in this edition you will read all about ambitious entrepreneurs, who have
turned their passion and positive outlooks into successful businesses, using various routes to market. They talk about their journeys and give an insight into running a business and how rewarding it can be, starting with an interview with Charles and Dean Asset Finance. Our fashion and style pages are focussed around two wonderful shops that are on our doorstep - Boheme Boutique in Wansford, specialising in pre-loved Vivienne Westwood clothing, and to complement the fashion, Henry Smith & Hamylton show off some of their designer eyewear. After you have worked hard and dressed the part, it is time to play! Take a look at the pages we have dedicated to what’s on and where to go as well as some of the best places to dine out. Some are hidden treasures offering gastronomic experiences as well established restaurants with superb reputations and delicious dishes to appease the highest standards and the healthiest of appetites.
