Thank you to our customers for their confidence and continued support into our program. We have continued to see strong demand for our Salers bulls and are proud to launch our second annual Private Treaty Bull Catalogue.

We have consistently offered around 60 Purebred Salers bulls through Private treaty each year and our passion for Salers cattle started in 1981 when Elroy purchased his first half blood Salers females. Ever since those first females came home, our family has really enjoyed the diversity that Salers cattle offer. Everything from premium females with very correct structure, calving ease and milk production to high performance, valuable carcass capability and ample hair to help the animals through winter.

Our customers have taken advantage of all these traits the Salers breed offers matched with our heavy selection the last couple decades for good disposition and easy handling animals. We put a huge focus and selection on our cow herd, it is commonly known that a great bull starts with a great cow. With a cow herd of 300 it gives us great selection pressure to select a premium crop of yearling bulls that grow on their mother’s milk and our grass pasture. No creep is offered to our calves as we want to select for those hard-working cows.

Our yearling bulls are developed on a free choice ration of brome grass hay and ground oats with a mineral and vitamin mix to develop them for their first year of breeding and years of service as a mature bull. The bulls will be fully guaranteed with a breeding soundness exam completed and your bull/s of choice will be kept until your need for them.

Private Treaty Guidelines Private Treaty Offers Every animal is open for inquiries until February 27, 2024 at which point we will begin accepting written private treaty offers.

If multiple offers are made on any bulls before, or on February 27, 2024 then the people of interest will have equal opportunity to place another offer on their chosen bull. The highest offer on February 27, 2024 will garner the selected bull and would be fully committed for at that time. Written offers can be made to jkyakemchuk@gmail.com. After February 27, 2024 bulls are first come, first serve.

Our digital catalogue will be updated with ‘SOLD’ markers as the season passes on. To view the digital catalogue you can find it on our website at www.scatteredsprucesalers.com or on our Facebook page. The pen is open for viewing now, and throughout the entire season, stop in to tour the bulls, the herd and have a coffee or tea with us.

A 50% deposit of purchase price is required at time of commitment, to hold your bull of choosing until we deliver him, when you need him for breeding. The remaining 50% deposit is due upon delivery.

We accept cheque or e-transfer for your convenience.

Delivery We offer delivery right to your farm where we follow a 500km rule but do try to work with you as we typically do delivery runs across AB, SK and into parts of BC.
