We are thrilled to be announcing our 50th anniversary sale to the public. This years sale features 8 lots which have been carefully selected by Steve Quinton (Char-Maine Ranching). Steve has picked out, the best of the best of females, on offer, from Alberta Salers Association members. We’d like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Steve for doing the selection process for us.
Salers have been a backbone to the cattle industry, and have provided much needed hybrid vigour for hardworking ranchers and farmers. The excellent mothering ability of Salers females, including industry leading milk is part of the equation. Her large pelvic area, has ensured that money stays in the pocket of hardworking ranchers and farmers, as live calves are what pay. These eight females, are an asset to add to anyone’s herd.
Most animals will be on display at Farmfair, however some may not - so be sure to reach out to any of the consignors listed on each sale lot for more information and/or to make plans to see the female in person if you should wish to do so. Stop in at the Salers booth during Farmfair to grab some freshly baked ASA cookies, steak necessities, our 4-H giveaway for Salers projects for 2023-2024 or 2024-2025 year AS well as our door prize to give away a Clearfab Industries High Lift Pump (valued at $3200 CAD).

What an opportunity here! Out of the Grand Champion Bull at the 2024 National Salers show in Oklahoma City, and the Grand Champion bull at Farmfair International 2023, WWCS Kayo 581K was one of the most talked about bulls in the barns at both shows. And her dam , YFS Miss Bethany 47K, the 2 time Grand Champion Female at Farmfair International 2022 and 2023, is raising her first calf to be an absolute powerhouse! This royally bred calf was born quick, and has been an outright standout. If you want style, thickness, big time growth all in an easy doing, docile package, this one is for you. This is a female to build your red or black program around, and one that we shouldn’t be selling, but we are committing our very best to this sale. We are excited to watch “My Kinda Girl” write her own chapter in the Salers breed. The only Kayo calf being offered for sale in 2024.

Last fall I had the opportunity to tour the wonderful herd at Scattered Spruce Salers and selected Magnolia’s mother, Miss Savannah 149K as my pick of their bred heifers. Savannah is a broody, beautifully uddered young black cow who is going to make an impact in our herd in the future. Magnolia shares the same characteristics as her mother….tons of capacity and growth, but in a red package. Her EPD’s show that she should have above average milk and calving ease. Magnolia is an attractive heifer calf, she’ll be showing at FarmFair.

We are so proud to offer Care's Miss Pld Medusa 19M in the sale this year. She is a fancy smooth made heifer. Being a combination of old genetics on both sire and dam side, there are not many like her out there, making her the perfect addition to any herd. She carries the genetics to have longevity and performance to work in any program.

Our consignment this year is a 50% Red Angus/Salers Optimizer. She combines a moderate frame with femininity, nice volume and fleshing ability. Her dam is a nice productive cow with a long list of unique cattle in her pedigree going back to numerous peoples great contribution to the Salers breed. Her service sire SW Liam 4L was a Cattlemen’s Choice Futurity finalist at the Salers 50th celebration. Exposed to SW Liam 4L June 11, 2024; Bred June 26, 2024. BW: 98 lbs
