Did you know … jurors have the right to find a person “not guilty” if they do not believe the accused should be punished, even if the State has proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt. It’s called Jury Nullification. But defense attorneys aren’t allowed to even mention the right to jurors, much less encourage them to exercise it. I hope Savannah Magazine readers will remember that the next time they find themselves on a jury panel.
