Editor’s Notes As we arrive at our last issue of the year… writing this note brought about numerous emotions – frustration, excitement, happiness, fear, sadness, anxiety, and so on. The SAUCEink journey started back in 2009. From a pet project, as time went by, it gradually evolved into what you see it to be today. We even did our very first Fashion Show (flip the pages to check out the showcase)! This issue, despite being the last for the year, we’re introducing a additional segment featuring women leaders as we emerge into a new project for 2016. To top it off, we’re also pleased to welcome an important addition to the team, our new Creative Director, Emma Chiau. All well, ends well. This year has been an amazing journey for the SAUCEink team and we hope in the coming 2016, we’d have more exciting “stuff” - content, activities and more! If you haven’t already, become a SAUCEink member today and sign up for our newsletter; for what awaits you are endless exclusive promotions, rare VIP access to parties/events and much more! by: Roan Gregorio It’s the season of festivities again! It’s the time to be jolly and most of all, stylish. With lots of events and parties lined up in your calendar we’re sure you would need some “fash-piration”. Featuring looks inspired by some of the Christmas songs we love, let these guide you to be your most fashionable, fabulous self this holiday.

te Christmas Channel your inner Snow Queen in an all white ensemble this Christmas! You can opt for yellow tint/ cream tone to your white outfits or you can add more depth by mixing and matching different textures and fabrics to make up your look.

Jingle Bells

Literally add sparkle into your Holiday season by dressing up in a sequined ensemble. Match it with a black tights and boots to be sure that your dress is a standout piece. Pair this outfit with some gold accessories; And if it’s cold outside, you can wear a sequined blazer as well.

Jingle Bell Rock Be naughty instead of nice this year with an edgy look. Match a leather jacket with a sequined outfit and be sure to standout. Not sure if you’re ready to go the extreme? Try mixing more subtle colors and sticking to neutrals with just the right pops of color and be sure to have a rockin’ good time this Christmas!

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Stand out this Christmas season by adding a pop of Red to your Holiday outfit. With neutral colors like Black, White and Gray; You can mix up a red piece or accessory to give your outfit a twist. You can take it a step further by adding in more shine with patent red leather pieces. Be like Rudolph and light up this season!

Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree Be the star in your Christmas tree by adding some glitter into your wardrobe. Go for green and match it in an all black outfit so that it’s the star of your ensemble. Keep your accessories simple with just 1 or 2 to accent your look.

Baby It’s Cold Outside Be sure to face the icy winds this Holidays! So that your whole look wouldn’t be overwhelmed with bulky fabric, you can pair your winter sweaters with a pencil skirt or tight pants.

Frosty the Snowman Feel warm this season by styling with a fur jacket, but keep it jolly and festive by choosing light pastel colors instead of the usual light brown or white fur. Match it with leggings and a long top as well as boots to keep you toasty in the cold weather. Highlight you pastel coat with browns and oranges to complete your look.

Silver Bells Shine bright in your holiday parties and add sparkle and glam with a sequin dress. Stand out even more by choosing embellished accessories and silver jewelry.

Joy to the World! Be jovial this season in a balloon skirt matched with a crop top. Choose pieces bursting with embellishments, paired with bold-colored accessories. Be radiant and eye-catching this season!

All I Want For Christmas Is You Dress up this Christmas to catch your special someone’s eye! Choose eye popping colors like bright red and highlight it with gold accessories. If red’s not your color you can go for royal blue or black, but keep your silhouette tight with pencil skirs and nice fitting bodices. It’s the time to be daring and sultry this season.

Christmas Time Is Here Again Let’s head back to the retro times and relive the glories of past Christmas with layers of black complimented by shades of white. Going around with your minimalistic sling bag, together with your sexy strap boots and black mini shades, no sun nor rain will stop you from sharing the retro christmas vibes with the world! Bringing Our Elemental Structure Representation into Our Home Decoration! All of us are born with a number that represents our elemental structure. As we design our home, use this elemental structure representative as reference. Bringing this elemental structure into our home allows us to embrace the energies that vibrate from within. This will ensure that we will really feel at home!

Calculation of our Elemental Structure Number: Step 1: Break up your date of birth (DDMMYYYY) into 8 individual numbers and add them. Step 2: Repeat Step 1 until you get a single digit. Eg. Assume your date of birth is 01 December 1980: Step 1: 0 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 0 = 22 Step 2: 2 + 2 = 4 (Your Elemental Structure Number) Here’s some of the recommended features that you can have when designing your home:

Metal 1 and 6 Metal frames for photos, metallic cabinets, metallic lightings frames

WATER 2 AND 7

FIRE 3 AND 8

WOOD 4 AND 9

EARTH 5

Water fountains, Stoves, heater, Wooded furniture Stones, antiques, aquarium, water ensure corners are to utensils, plants, marble floor potted plants, rounded, furniture garden, flowers water filter with rounded edged, bright colors

More than 1 person stays in a house. Assuming 2 of you stay in a house, one has a water elemental representation and the other an earth elemental representation, how do you merge these together for elemental home design? Get a water cave fountain. This will blend both the water and earth elemental representation together!

“Define yourself. Do not let other people define who you are. - Lydia Milne

Founder of BioRevive HairGro Centre, Singapore

Lydia Milne The Epitome of Strength and Success By: Janelle Yau

A lot of people get intimidated when it comes to starting a new business, but not Lydia Milne. Despite having zero background when it comes to business, Lydia did not let that stop her. Instead, she banked on her wilful passion and drive, believed in her product, and ended up being extremely successful with what she does.

then craeted not only to treat hair loss, but also to restore one’s healthy scalp to promote healthy hair growth.

Family & Independence

Strength & Determination

Stemming from her experience with hair loss and her hair journey from having to use hair extensions to growing healthy and natural hair, Lydia was inspired to start up a business that promises affordable, effective, and non-invasive hair growth treatments. Despite not having any knowledge about running a business and her constant travelling between Singapore and Dubai, with her passion and drive, Lydia felt extremely determined to develop and strengthen her brand. Teaming up with one of the best pharmaceutical companies in Singapore, BioRevive HairGro was

Like any fearless business woman of today’s time, Lydia is extremely independent when it comes to running her growing empire and making crucial decisions, but despite her fearlessness Lydia is not afraid to show off her softer side admitting that she still loves being taken care of and pampered after a long day at work. Despite being strong and independent, Lydia remains very family oriented and admits that family is still one of the most important factors that influence any decisions that she has to make. While she was remains to be her rock in times of need. brought up to be independent and was taught to be accountable for her own decisions in life, her family remains to be her rock in times of need.

Fun, Fab, & Fierce

With such a successful business on her plate, Lydia may have her hands full with emails, meetings, and constant travelling to and fro home and work, but she still makes sure that she finds the time to inject some fun into her life. “I’m a self confessed Social Media Junkie” she says. When not bombarded with work, like most people of today’s time, Lydia loves flipping through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Other than that, Lydia makes sure that despite her busy schedule, she still has time for her family and friends. And after a busy day, Lydia turns to the most efficient stress release activity known to women---shopping!

Secret to success

In the real world, there will always be people that will not appreciate what you do and will find ways to bring you down, but Lydia tells us that in order to succeed you have to “define yourself, and do not accept other people’s definition of you.” “There are so many roads to Rome, but you have to find your niche” she says. While there will surely be roadblocks along the way, “Passion, integrity, and determination are the only keys you need. Love what you do and do what you love. Own it and build your brand.”

To know more about Lydia Milne, follow her on her social media platforms: www.facebook.com/biorevivehair Dreams & Inspirations www.instagram.com/lydia.milne www.twitter.com/lydia_milne While it is undeniable that running

one’s own business is no easy feat, Lydia remains inspired to stay on top of her game with the rapport that she builds with her customers, and the positive feedback that her customers constantly give her. “I don’t get to meet most of my customers, but them returning to my salon, referring us to their other friends, and continuous support inspires me to give my best and ensure customer satisfaction in all my products and services.”Thanks to her amazing customers, Lydia is not afraid to dream big and to conquer territories out Singapore by planning to expand in different countries.

Christmas is coming. Do you have any suggestions for Christmas outfits?

Deja User I am going for a winter holiday in the coming weeks. This is my first time going aboard during this season. Can you tell me what are the must-have items for my winter trip? DEJA: Congratulations! You must be very excited for your winter trip. Let us suggest some items to make your trip more fashionable.

Long Skirts

Who says you can only wear long trousers to beat the cold? Choose a leather or wool skirt as an interesting alternative. Should it get too cold, wear a pair of leggings underneath. Recommendations from Deja:

Oasis Clean High Waisted Leather Look Pencil Skirt S$79.20

ASOS Midi Skirt in Wool Check S$121.00

Colourful Sweaters

As days get shorter and nights get longer, add a pop of colour to brighten your day. Colourful sweaters (Oversized please!) add a quirky touch to any outfit. Recommendations from Deja:

in-leading Aztec Pattern Sweater S$69.90 S$27.90

in-leading Jacquard Sweater S$54.90 S$21.90

Jackets/Layerings

Jackets are fail-safe options for Winter. Down or wool jackets would be perfect. Layering enables you to get creative with mix and matching. A tip would be to stick to the same colour, but in different shades. Most countries provide heating elements indoor, and wearing layers would give you the option of removing a piece of clothing when it gets too warm. Recommendations from Deja:

UNKUT Viper Hoodie S$129.00 S$64.50

Longline Sleeveless Pocket Blazer S$96.90

Launched in April 2012, MASH UP is a collective of 3 designers (Daniela Monasterios-Tan, Nathanael Nb and Shaf Amis’aabudin) from very different background who met while studying fashion at Lasalle College of the Arts. MASH-UP is their interpretation of the city they live in; their inspiration by people of different cultures and sub-cultures; their rendition of the parties they attend, music and DJs they listen to, stories they read and hear as well as places that they travel to. They aim to encourage the DIY spirit in an era where you can get anything done by someone or something, and to create a world that will inspire mash-ups between people, one that is happier, funn(i) er and full of humour and heart.

Serious but never severe, minimal but never simple, fragile but never weak. Experiments with quirk cuts and expanding on extremely simple ideas define the MAX.TAN language. Maximising on minimalistic ideas, this complex language results in details that are sometimes blown out of proportions. Much of the label’s attention is paid to tailoring and draping while creating unexpected silhouettes and austere moods. The garments play with volume, modified shape and use, masculine, feminine, oversize, undersized, deconstruction, reconstruction and transformation. The factors form the underlying DNA of MAX.TAN. The label advocates an alternative and quiet fashion lifestyle.

Run After is a women’s clothing line

which originates in Singapore and is a collaboration of 3 like-minded individuals who dream of creating a brand that offers inspiring, quality designs with a little twist. It is a brand that is focused on building a community that inspires us to see beauty in the journey rather than just the destination. Co-founder and famous influencer, Melissa Celestine Koh, has been at the heart of the fashion industry in the past years- gracing magazines and pursued by respectable global brands. Inspired by the design and quality that comes with the labels she has worked with, she teamed with partners- all who share in the same vision- creating a brand that coveys this message and inspire women.

Seoul Chic Bazaar is a Korean brand born from a mix of cultures. Founded in 2012 by the Head designer Jihee Lee, it embodies her glamourous, playful & flirty lifestyle spent between Korea, Thailand and France. Since then their modern cut, all manufactured in Korea, have received an enthusiastic following internationally for K-style with a twist!

Catherine Teatum and Rob Jones are the designers of London based womenswear brand Teatum Jones; a label which has become recognised for its modern, polished and bold aesthetic. Driven by a love of human stories the designers create bold and exquisite fabrics that are layered with narrative. These luxurious textiles inform the development of modern and refined shapes. Teatum Jones’ aesthetic speaks to a super smart, confident and creative woman. Having trained in womenswear at Ravensbourne and Central Saint Martin’s respectively they were united through their love of human narrative. They have a unique and artisanal approach to the design process, often being referred to as “method designers”. Such an ap-

proach to design has earned the duo accolades, reviews and output referring to them as London’s young ‘textile pioneers’, ‘innovators’ and ‘fabric specialists’. The designers have recently been invited to show on the official catwalk schedule at London Fashion Week, where their revered collections, including their signature statement coats and bold tailored dresses, have been bought by many of the worlds best luxury stores including Net-a-Porter, Harvey Nichols and Liberty.

From her first mindboggling dream of becoming an astronaut, to wanting to become a singer, an artist, a dancer, and the list goes on, Ying grew up with a creative flair in her. One thing was for sure, presents to her loved ones were always handmade by her. Embarking on creative projects like drawing and painting was one of the only activities she could do for hours without feeling the need to twitch. During the period of her studies in Melbourne, she got inspired by the colours that tinted the city – mustard and orange leaves painted the pavements; dusty pink and sky blue houses coloured the Melbourne streets; earthy-coloured curtains, carpets, and decor gave every corner a warm, fuzzy feel. How else better than designing a capsule collection can these amazing colours be a part

of everyone’s lives? That the start of her design journey. Ying The Label (YTL) fuels on the philosophy of ‘less is more; odd is beautiful’. One of the most prominent differentiating factor of this brand is the origami-inspired detailings and self-designed fabrics. You will see a splash of quaint colours in every collection, like dusty pink, mustard etc. Designer, Li Ying says, “I am in love with the idea of art, painting, drawing, folding and I am perpetually thinking about how I can apply them to a piece of clothing. I love playing with colours, and I feel that the market has a gap in these areas because people are lack of the confidence to be adventurous! I am itching to instill this confidence in people!”
